Most shades are framed with flat steel wire. It corrodes, and its edge works through the mesh at the fold. Ours is round-profile 304 stainless — it doesn't rust, and it doesn't cut the fabric it sits in.

The mesh is open enough to see through from inside and dense enough to keep the cabin private from outside. Windows still wind down, and air still moves through.

Works well, fits well, stays on. Only minor thing is the bag they came in was a bit cheap and tore straight away. Not a big deal, I keep them flat in the boot anyway.
Bought on a whim and really glad I did. The difference in cabin temp is obvious on hot days. Fitted all four windows without any issues and they haven't budged since.
Tried a few different types over the years, these are the best so far. No suction cups to fall off, no fiddly clips. Just stick them on and go.
Good value, quick post. Slightly loose on the small rear quarter window but stays on. Blocks the sun well enough for the kids in the back.
