Round 304 stainless, not flat steel
Most shades are framed with flat steel wire. It corrodes, and its edge works through the mesh at the fold. Ours is round-profile 304 stainless — it doesn't rust, and it doesn't cut the fabric it sits in.
Visibility
See out, without being seen
The mesh is open enough to see through from inside and dense enough to keep the cabin private from outside. Windows still wind down, and air still moves through.

Product is genuinely good and I'd give the shades themselves 5 stars. But I ordered and heard nothing for over a week, no dispatch notification or anything. When they arrived the outer box was damaged. Shades inside were okay. Just a poor ordering experience really, the company needs to sort their fulfilment out.
Bought the front and rear set a month ago. Holding up well in the heat, magnets haven't weakened at all. Visibility through them is fine for checking blind spots. No complaints.
Mate these are so much better than I expected. Click them on and forget about it. The sun used to bake the side the baby's seat is on, now she actually falls asleep instead of screaming. Took maybe a minute per window to line up the first time.
Good fit and they stay on properly. Slight delay in shipping, about a week, but the product is good. The mesh is decent quality and you can still see through it fine when reversing. Would've been 5 if they'd arrived a bit quicker.
Worth every dollar. We do a lot of weekend trips and the difference in cabin temp is obvious. The tailgate shade was the surprise winner, keeps the boot area way cooler which matters when groceries are sitting there. Fast delivery too, turned up in 3 days.
