Custom-Fit Sun Shades for the Audi Q3
Audi fits a factory roller blind to the rear doors of some Q3 trims and not to others, which is why owners of the same car reach very different conclusions about whether they need shades. If yours came without them, the rear door glass is bare, and on a compact SUV the second row sits close enough to it that a child seat gets direct afternoon sun.
These sets are cut to the door windows of the 8U Q3, sold here from 2011 to 2018. The glass shape changed with the 2018 F3, so this cut does not fit the newer car — we don't currently offer one for it.
The mesh panel is held by a magnetic border that grips the painted door surround, not the glass — which matters on a car with factory privacy tint, because nothing presses against it and nothing leaves a mark. From $49.99 a pair, shipped Australia-wide.

Why Audi Q3 owners choose custom shades
An answer for trims without the factory blind
A pull-up roller blind is a cost option on some Q3 grades. A cut mesh panel covers the same window on the cars that missed out, and covers more of it.
Works with factory privacy glass
Privacy tint cuts visible light but not much heat. A mesh panel on the outside of the glass line adds a second layer without touching the tint.
Keeps the window usable
The frame mounts to the door surround, so the window winds down behind the panel and the shade stays up.
Features
Cut for the 8U generation
Audi Q3 8U, 2011–2018. Audi changed the rear door aperture for the 2018 F3, so this cut is for the 8U only.
See-through mesh
Reduces glare and direct sun on the second row while leaving the outward view intact.
Folds flat for storage
The panels pack down into a door pocket rather than living loose in the boot.
Fitment for your Audi Q3
Cut for Audi Q3 8U (2011–2018) front and rear door windows. Not for the 2018-on F3 — if your Q3 is close to the 2018 changeover, read the build plate in the driver's door jamb, since a car first registered in 2019 may be an 8U built in 2018. The panoramic roof is not covered by the window set; ask us if you want a roof panel quoted.
Covers: Rear driver-side door window, Rear passenger-side door window, Front driver-side door window, Front passenger-side door window.
Installation
- Check your Q3's build plate and pick the 8U or F3 listing accordingly.
- Hold the panel to the rear door window frame, starting at the top edge.
- Let the magnetic border draw itself onto the painted door surround.
- Press each corner flat so the mesh sits taut against the frame.
- Lift one corner to remove, then fold the panel flat.
Audi Q3 sun shade FAQs
- Does the Audi Q3 already come with sun shades?
- Some grades do. Audi offers manual roller blinds for the rear doors as an option or as part of a pack, so two Q3s of the same year can differ. If yours has bare rear door glass, it did not get them.
- Which Q3 does this fit?
- The 8U, built 2011 to 2018. The build plate in the driver's door jamb gives the month and year of manufacture, which is more reliable than the registration year around the 2018 changeover. We don't currently make a set for the F3 (2018 onwards).
- Do these work with Audi's factory privacy glass?
- Yes. The magnetic frame grips the painted door surround and does not touch the glass, so the tint is unaffected and you get a second layer against heat and glare.
- Is there a shade for the Q3's panoramic roof?
- Not as part of the window set. Send us your build year and we can quote a roof panel separately.
