BYD M6 Sun Shades
A people mover has a glass problem a hatchback does not: three rows of passengers, and the two rows furthest from the air conditioning are the ones sitting against the most glass. In the M6 the second and third rows take the afternoon sun square on, and the children who usually occupy them cannot move out of it. Installation
- Wipe the door frame down so the shade seats cleanly against the rubber.
- Hold the panel to the top of the door opening first and let it find the frame.
- Work down each side, pressing the edge in so it sits flat rather than bowed.
- Check the front panels leave your mirror view clear before you drive off.

- Do the shades cover the third-row windows?
- The standard sets cover the opening door windows. Third-row quarter glass varies by build, so send through your build plate details and we will confirm what is patterned for your M6 before you order.
- Are these legal to use while driving in Australia?
- On the rear door windows, yes, in every state and territory. On the front doors the driver must retain a clear view of the road and both side mirrors, so the front panels are cut short of the mirror line. Nothing goes over the windscreen while the car is moving.
- Can the kids still see out?
- Yes. The mesh is see-through from inside, which is the main reason to choose it over a blackout panel in a car full of passengers.
- Will they fit over factory or aftermarket tint?
- Yes. The panels sit in the door frame and never touch the glass, so tint makes no difference to the fit — the two work together.
