BYD Seal Window Shades

The BYD Seal is a low, wide electric sedan with a lot of glass for its size - a raked windscreen, deep side windows and, on most Australian cars, a fixed panoramic roof that cannot be shaded from inside. In an Adelaide or Brisbane car park that adds up fast, and on an EV the cost of cooling it back down is measured in range rather than fuel.

Our Seal shades are cut to the car's own door glass shapes and mount magnetically to the steel frame. They go on in seconds, come off just as fast, and hold at speed where suction cups let go.

Why BYD Seal owners choose custom shades

Less cabin heat means less range spent on aircon

Every kilowatt the climate system pulls to bring a heat-soaked cabin back down is a kilowatt not going to the wheels. Shading the side glass while the car is parked means the aircon starts from a lower number, which matters more on an EV than it ever did on a petrol car.

Cut to the Seal, not to a rectangle

The Seal's rear door glass tapers sharply towards the C-pillar. A universal shade leaves a triangle of bare glass exactly where a rear passenger's head sits. These panels follow the real outline.

Magnets, not suction cups

The shades grip the painted steel door frame. There is nothing stuck to the glass, nothing to leave a ring, and nothing that drops into the footwell on a hot afternoon.

You can still see out

The mesh is a fine black polyester weave. Rear passengers keep a clear view of the road; from outside, the cabin is much harder to see into when the car is parked.

Features

Black polyester UV mesh

Blocks direct sun and cuts glare on the rear seats while keeping outward visibility. Works alongside factory tint rather than replacing it.

Neodymium magnet mounting

Holds firmly on the door surround, including with the window wound down. No adhesive, no clips, no tools.

Sold in sets

Front pair, rear pair, or all four doors. Most Seal owners start with the rear pair if they carry passengers, or the fronts if the car lives outdoors.

Fitment for your BYD Seal

Fits the BYD Seal sedan sold in Australia from 2023, across the Dynamic, Premium and Performance variants - they share the same door glass. This set covers the wind-down door windows. The fixed panoramic roof and the rear windscreen are not part of the set. If you are unsure which build year you have, the build plate in the driver's door jamb will tell you.

Covers: Front driver window, Front passenger window, Rear left door window, Rear right door window.

Installation

  1. Hold the panel up to the window with the mesh facing outward.
  2. Line the top edge up with the top of the door frame.
  3. Let the magnets pull it flat against the surround, then run a finger along the edge to seat it.
  4. To remove, lift one corner and peel it away - it stores flat in the door pocket.

BYD Seal sun shade FAQs

Will these fit a 2026 BYD Seal?
Yes. The Seal's door glass has not changed since the car launched in Australia in 2023, so one set covers 2023 to 2026.
Do they fit the Seal Performance as well as the Dynamic?
Yes. Dynamic, Premium and Performance share the same body and the same door glass, so the same shades fit all three.
Do these shade the panoramic glass roof?
No. These are cut for the four wind-down door windows. The fixed roof glass is a different job and is not included.
Can I leave them on while driving?
Fit them to the rear passenger windows and drive normally. Keep the windscreen and the front side windows clear while you are driving, and check the road rules that apply in your state or territory.
Will the magnets mark the paint?
No. The magnets sit against the door frame behind a soft binding, and the shade is light enough that there is nothing pressing hard against the paint.
