Ford Ranger Raptor Sun Shades (2019–2022)

The Ranger Raptor spends more of its life outside than most utes, and a dual cab's upright door glass lets the Australian sun straight onto the back seat. Park it at a worksite, a boat ramp or a trailhead and the rear bench is the hottest part of the cabin.

These are mesh shades cut for the Raptor's four wind-down door windows rather than trimmed down from a universal panel. Three ways to buy: the front door pair at $49.99, the rear door pair at $59.99, or the four-window set at $99.99.

The rear pair is the one most Raptor owners start with — it is the glass beside child seats and passengers, and it is legal to drive with fitted.

Why Ford Ranger Raptor owners choose custom shades

Cooler back seat, not just a darker one

Blocking direct sun off the rear bench keeps the seat belt buckles and the vinyl touchable after the Raptor has been parked out in the open. That is the difference families notice first, ahead of anything to do with UV figures.

No suction cups to let go in the heat

The shade grips the painted door frame rather than the glass. There is no vacuum to fail on a 40-degree day, which matters in a vehicle that routinely sits in full sun with nothing to park under.

Legal to drive with on the rear doors

Rear side windows can be shaded while the vehicle is moving in every Australian state and territory. The front pair is a parked-only item — keep it in the door pocket and pull it off before you drive away.

Survives the dust and the corrugations

There is nothing clipped into the door trim and nothing adhesive. The panels come off by hand in seconds when you need to hose the cabin out, and go back on just as quickly.

Features

Cut to the Raptor's door glass

Each panel follows the shape of the window opening, so it covers the full aperture instead of leaving the bright corner gaps a one-size-fits-most shade leaves on a ute's squared-off glass.

Black polyester mesh

See-through from inside, so rear passengers keep their view out and you can check on them in the mirror. Harder to see in from outside. It still blocks sun, dust and insects with the window wound down.

Front panels cut back for the mirror

The front-door pieces stop short of the mirror line so you keep a clear view of the wing mirror and can still reach out for a toll tag or a parking ticket.

No effect on the door seals

The panels sit flush inside the frame. Nothing warps the rubber, nothing rubs, and nothing is left behind when they come off.

Fitment for your Ford Ranger Raptor

Covers the four wind-down door windows on the 2019–2022 Ranger Raptor dual cab. The rear window of the cab is not part of the set, and the Raptor's unique front bodywork makes no difference to the door apertures. Raptors built either side of the 2019 and 2022 changeovers are worth checking against the build plate on the door jamb rather than the model year on the rego papers, because a late-build vehicle can be sold as the following year's model.

Covers: Front driver's door window, Front passenger door window, Rear left door window, Rear right door window.

Installation

  1. Wind the window fully up and give the painted door frame a quick wipe — grit is the only thing that causes marks.
  2. Hold the panel against the frame and let the magnetic edge find it; it pulls itself square.
  3. Run a thumb around the perimeter so the edge seats evenly against the frame.
  4. To remove, lift one corner and peel it off. Store the panels flat in the door pocket or behind the rear seat.

Ford Ranger Raptor sun shade FAQs

Do standard Ford Ranger shades fit a Ranger Raptor?
Buy the Raptor set listed on this page rather than assuming. The Raptor's door glass follows the Ranger dual cab of the same years, but the sets are cut per listing and the Raptor is listed separately so you get panels matched to that generation. If you are cross-shopping, the standard Ranger sets are linked above.
Which Ranger Raptor shades should I buy first?
The rear door pair at $59.99. It is the glass beside passengers and child seats, it takes the most direct sun through the afternoon, and it is the position you are allowed to drive with covered. Add the front pair later for the car park.
Can I drive the Raptor with the shades on?
On the rear doors, yes — that is legal while moving across Australia. The front door panels must come off before you drive; they are for when the vehicle is parked.
Will they hold on corrugated dirt roads?
They hold securely in normal driving. On sustained highway running or genuinely rough corrugations we recommend taking them off — they are a shade, not a fitted accessory, and there is no sense giving them a reason to work loose.
Do they work if the Raptor already has tinted windows?
Yes, and the two stack. Tint cuts a share of the heat and UV; the mesh panel adds a physical layer and blocks direct glare that tint alone does not. If the side glass is untinted, the shades on their own are effective enough that you do not need to film those windows.
What about the 2023-onwards Ranger Raptor?
The set on this page is cut for the 2019–2022 vehicle. If yours is the later generation, check the build plate and get in touch before ordering so we can confirm what is available for your glass.
