GWM Cannon Sun Shades

A work ute spends its day parked in the open, and the Cannon's upright cabin turns into an oven by mid-afternoon. These shades are cut to the Cannon's four door openings and seat inside the window frame, so they hold flat against the surround without tape, clips or suction cups — and they keep doing their job with the window wound down, which matters when you are in and out of the ute all day.

Why GWM Cannon owners choose custom shades

The fronts earn their keep first

If the Cannon is a work vehicle, start with the front pair. Those are the two windows you sit beside all day and the ones that bake while the ute is parked nose-in on a site.

Rear pair for the back seat

If there are kids in the dual cab, the rear doors are the ones to do first. Plenty of owners end up running all four panels.

Harder to see into a loaded cab

From the driver's seat you can see out clearly; from outside the mesh makes the cabin harder to see into. Worth something when there is gear sitting on the back seat.

Nothing touches the glass

No adhesive and no suction cups, so there is nothing to leave a mark on the window or perish in the heat. The panels lift out in seconds and store flat behind the seat.

Features

100% black polyester mesh

Blocks UV and cuts glare and cabin heat without blacking out your view. Already got film on the ute? The shades add comfort on top. No film? They work fine on their own.

Cut for the dual cab's door glass

Four panels for the four windows you wind down. The cab's rear window behind the back seat is not part of this set. Boot and quarter-glass panels are listed separately.

Front panels cut short of the mirror

You keep your sightline down the side of the ute and you can still get a hand out to a toll tag or a site gate reader.

Fitment for your GWM Cannon

Templated on the Australian-delivered GWM Cannon dual cab. GWM has sold the Cannon here across several variants and gave the ute a facelift during this period, so send your build year and variant with the order and we will check the panels against your car before cutting. Running a single cab or a cab chassis? Tell us and we will confirm what fits first. How each panel holds — magnetic border or rubber-edged frame — depends on the vehicle; the product page for your set states which it is.

Covers: Front door windows (driver and passenger), Rear door windows, Four-piece set across both rows.

Installation

  1. Wind the window fully down.
  2. Start at the top edge and line the panel up with the door opening.
  3. Seat the edge into the window frame, working around the surround until it sits flat.
  4. Leave the window down for airflow, or wind it up behind the shade.
  5. Lift one corner to take the panel out.

GWM Cannon sun shade FAQs

Does this set cover the rear window of the cab?
No. The four-piece set is the door windows — the ones you wind down. The fixed rear window behind the back seat is not included, though boot and rear quarter-glass panels are available separately.
Are they legal to use while driving in Australia?
On the rear windows, yes. The driver's view has to stay clear under Australian road rules, so the front panels are cut short of the mirror line and we recommend taking the fronts off before highway speeds.
Will they survive a work ute?
The panel seats into the door frame rather than sticking to the glass with a suction cup, so there is nothing to lose grip as the cabin heats up. They go in and out in seconds, so most owners pull them when they are loading and put them back after.
Which panels should I order for a family dual cab?
Rear doors first — that is where the kids sit and where the afternoon sun lands. The four-piece set is the usual next step if the ute does long trips.
