Holden Colorado Sun Shades (2008–2020)
Holden is gone, but the Colorado is not. There are still well over a hundred thousand of them on Australian roads, most of them working utes that live outside, and a cabin parked in the open all day is the hottest place on any job site.
These shades are cut to the Colorado's door glass rather than trimmed down from a universal panel, so they sit inside the frame without a gap for sun to come through. The magnetic border grips the steel door surround, which means nothing sticks to the glass, the window still winds down, and the shade stays put on corrugated gravel where suction cups let go. Front pair, rear pair, boot window, or the complete set.

Why Holden Colorado owners choose custom shades
A cabin that is bearable at knock-off
A Colorado parked in the sun from seven in the morning is an oven by three in the afternoon. Mesh on the door glass cuts the heat going in, so the seats and the wheel are something you can sit down to rather than brace for.
Shade for the crew-cab back seat
In a crew cab the rear door glass sits directly beside where child seats and passengers go. Rear-door shades cover the whole window, which is the difference between shade and a stripe of sun across a kid's face on the school run.
Less glare on early starts and long drives
Low morning and afternoon sun through the side glass is tiring on a long tow leg. Shaded rear windows calm the reflections coming through the cabin and the rear-view mirror.
Harder to see what is in the cab
A work ute carries tools, and a tray full of gear draws attention at the servo and the roadhouse. The mesh reads as dark from outside while you can still see out from the driver's seat.
Features
Cut to Colorado glass
Each shade is patterned to the door shapes on your cab configuration, so the border follows the frame rather than approximating it.
Magnetic mounting
Magnets in the bound edge grip the painted steel door frame. No adhesive, no suction cups to soften and fall off on hot glass, and no clips working at the door seal.
Breathable black mesh
Blocks UV and takes the heat and glare out of direct sun while still passing air, which matters when the ute is parked with the windows cracked.
On and off in seconds
Lift from a corner for night driving or the car wash, and store the set flat behind the seat.
Fitment for your Holden Colorado
The Colorado ran in two shapes here: the RC from 2008 to 2012, and the RG from 2012 to 2020. Door glass also differs between the single cab, the space cab and the four-door crew cab, so the set you want is matched to your cab as well as your years. If your Colorado sits on a changeover year, the build date on the compliance plate decides it, not the year on the rego papers - or send us the VIN and we will confirm the right set before anything is made.
Covers: Front driver and passenger windows, Rear door windows (space and crew cab), Boot / tailgate window.
Installation
- Match each shade to its window - they are cut per position, not interchangeable.
- Bring the magnetic border up to the steel door frame and let it grip.
- Press the edge flush the whole way around so there is no light gap at the corners.
- Peel from one corner to remove, and stack the set flat when it is not in use.
Holden Colorado sun shade FAQs
- Will these fit my Colorado's year?
- The Colorado was sold here as the RC from 2008 to 2012 and the RG from 2012 to 2020. Check the build month and year on the compliance plate in the door jamb or under the bonnet, because a ute sold as a 2012 could be either shape. If you are not sure, send us the VIN before you order.
- Does the single cab take the same set as the crew cab?
- No. The single cab has two doors, the space cab has small rear access doors and the crew cab has four full doors, and the glass is different in each. Pick the option that matches your cab, or ask us and we will match it from the VIN.
- Can I drive with the shades fitted?
- Use them on the rear door windows while you are driving. The windscreen and the front side windows have to stay clear of anything that obstructs the driver's view, so the front pair is for when the ute is parked.
- Will they stay on at highway speed or on corrugations?
- The magnets grip the steel door frame rather than the glass, so they hold at highway speed and on rough gravel - the conditions where suction-cup shades routinely give up.
- My Colorado has factory tint on the rear glass. Are shades still worth fitting?
- Tint cuts some light but not much heat. Mesh shades add real heat and UV reduction on top of the tint, which is the part the back seat notices on a thirty-five degree day.
- Is the Colorado the same as the Isuzu D-Max?
- They share a platform and the 2008-2012 RC was a rebadged D-Max, but the RG from 2012 on is a different body with its own glass. We cut the D-Max separately for that reason - if there is one of each in the driveway, order each to its own listing.
