The Isuzu MU-X has become one of Australia's favourite family 4WDs for a simple reason: it's the D-Max's seven-seat wagon sibling, built on the same tough ladder frame with the same 3.5-tonne towing credentials. That makes it the pick for families who tow a van or camper to the coast and spend whole days on the road — which also means whole days of sun streaming onto the back seats. Our sun shades are cut to the MU-X's exact window shapes and sit in a custom-fit frame, so the kids stay cooler, glare comes down, and there are no suction cups to give up on corrugated tracks.

Fitment for your Isuzu MU-X
We make MU-X shades for the 2016–2020 first-generation wagon and the current 2021–2025 generation. Both sets cover the four side doors (front and second row); the rear quarter windows aren't part of either set. Installation
- Match each cut shade to its window — they're shaped per position.
- Seat the shade's frame into the window opening.
- Press the border flush all the way around so there are no light gaps.
- Peel from a corner to remove, and stack the set flat when not in use.
Isuzu MU-X sun shade FAQs
- Do these fit the current-shape MU-X?
- Yes — choose the 2021–2025 set for the current generation; the 2016–2020 set fits the previous one.
- Can I drive with the shades fitted?
- Use them on the second-row windows while driving. Front-window shades are for when you're parked, so the driver's vision is never restricted.
- Will they stay on at highway speed towing?
- They hold securely in normal driving, and because each shade sits in a frame cut to its window rather than sticking to the glass, there are no suction cups to let go on corrugated gravel. At sustained highway speed we recommend taking them off.
- My MU-X has factory privacy glass — are shades still worth it?
- Privacy tint cuts some light but not much heat. Mesh shades add real heat and UV reduction on top of the factory tint, which the back rows notice on a 35-degree day.
- Do they suit the D-Max as well?
