Mitsubishi Mirage Sun Shades (2010–2021)

The Mirage is a budget city hatch — a first car, a learner's car, the cheap second car that does the school drop-off and the trip to the station. Cars like this rarely get a garage, so they bake in the driveway or the station car park all day, and with such a small cabin there's very little air in there to keep cool. Our shades are cut to the Mirage's own door window outlines and hold on magnetically, so the back seat gets real shade on the drive and the car isn't unbearable when you climb back in.

Why Mitsubishi Mirage owners choose custom shades

A tiny cabin gets hot quickly

There's not much space between the glass and the seats in a Mirage, so it heats up fast in the sun and takes a while to come back down. Shading the side glass means the air-conditioning isn't starting from a baking cabin every trip.

Shade where a child seat actually sits

In a car this narrow the child seat sits hard against the rear door glass. The rear pair puts shade exactly there, instead of a universal rectangle that leaves part of the window uncovered.

Kinder to a cheap interior

Light-coloured plastics and cloth trim in a small hatch fade and go brittle under Australian sun. Keeping direct sun off the seats and door cards slows that down and keeps the car looking better at resale.

Privacy without touching the glass

Mesh panels make it much harder to see what's on the back seat in a shopping-centre car park, and they lift straight off — nothing stuck to the window, nothing to strip off before you sell the car.

Features

Cut to Mirage door glass

Patterned from the door window outlines on that generation's body, so the panel follows the curve of the frame instead of sitting square across the middle of the glass.

Magnetic mounting, no suction cups

The border grips the steel frame around the door glass. Nothing sticks to the window, nothing drops into the door card halfway down the freeway.

See-through mesh

Like a fly screen — passengers can still watch the road go by and you keep a usable view in the mirrors, while the bulk of direct sun and glare is blocked.

Off in seconds, stores flat

Lift a corner and the panel comes away. They fold flat into a Mirage door pocket or under the boot floor, which matters in a car with this little spare room.

Fitment for your Mitsubishi Mirage

We list two Mirage sets: 2010–2017 and 2018–2021. Order by your car's build year, not the year you bought it — the later car's door glass is a different shape and the panels aren't interchangeable. There is one real difference between the two beyond the shape: the 2010–2017 set includes a boot/tailgate window panel, available on its own or bundled with the door sets, while the 2018–2021 set is door windows only — a front pair, a rear pair, or all four together. We don't cut a rear-screen panel for the later car, so please don't order expecting one. If you're not sure which generation you have, send us your build year and VIN and we'll confirm before shipping.

Covers: Front driver and passenger door windows, Rear passenger door windows, All four door windows as one set, Boot / tailgate window (2010–2017 only).

Installation

  1. Match each panel to its window — the front and rear door shapes are different.
  2. Hold the magnetic border up to the steel frame around the glass and let it pull on.
  3. Run a finger around the edge so it sits flush into the corners of the frame.
  4. Peel from one corner to remove, then fold flat into the door pocket.

Mitsubishi Mirage sun shade FAQs

Which set fits my Mirage?
Go by build year. One set is cut for the 2010–2017 hatch and the other for the 2018–2021 car. If yours sits right on the changeover, send us the VIN and we'll check which body shape it is before we ship.
Is there a shade for the boot window?
On the 2010–2017 Mirage, yes — a boot/tailgate window panel, on its own or bundled with the rear doors or all four doors. The 2018–2021 set doesn't include one; it's door windows only.
Can I buy just the rear pair?
Yes, and it's the most popular choice for parents. The rear pair covers the two back door windows, which is where a child seat or a napping passenger sits.
Can I leave them on while driving?
The rear shades are made to stay on. Fit the front pair while the car is parked — to pre-cool it before you get in — and take them off before you drive so the front side windows are clear.
Will they mark the paint or the glass?
They shouldn't — the magnets sit on the painted steel frame, not on the glass, and there is no adhesive involved. Wipe grit off the frame before fitting, the same as you would before wiping down a door.
