Skoda Kodiaq Window Shades
The Kodiaq is a seven-seat SUV with a long glasshouse, and the third row sits well behind the air-conditioning vents that keep the front of the cabin comfortable. On a Sydney or Brisbane summer afternoon that back half of the car takes the brunt of the sun, which is the problem these shades are made for.
We cut shades to the Kodiaq's own door glass rather than to a generic template. Two body cuts are listed: the first-generation car as sold here from 2021 to 2024, and the second-generation Kodiaq from 2025. The door apertures changed between them, so the year on your rego papers decides which set you need.

Why Skoda Kodiaq owners choose custom shades
Shade that reaches the second and third rows
Rear door shades cover the whole door window, so children in the second row and passengers in the third are out of direct sun for the whole trip rather than for the part of the drive when the sun happens to be on the other side of the car.
No suction cups on hot glass
The frame holds against the door surround instead of sticking to the window. Suction cups are the usual failure point on an Australian summer day, when glass surface temperature climbs well past what the cup can hold.
Windows still work
The glass drops behind the shade, so you can wind a rear window down with the shade in place. The mesh keeps working with the window open, which also keeps insects and road dust out at a caravan park.
Mesh you can see through
The shades are black polyester mesh, so passengers can still see out and you can still check on a child seat in the mirror. It is noticeably easier to see out from inside than to see in from outside.
Features
Measured on an actual Kodiaq
Each pattern comes off a real car: measured on the vehicle, cut at the workshop, refitted and adjusted until the edges sit flush. Nothing goes on sale until the finished shade has been photographed on the car it was cut for.
Three ways to buy
Front door pair at $49.99, rear door pair at $59.99, or all four door windows for $99.99. Most Kodiaq owners take the rear pair first and add the fronts later for parked-up shade.
Front shades cut for visibility
The front door shades are deliberately cut short of the mirror line so you can see your wing mirror and reach a toll or parking card. They are for use when the car is parked.
Fitment for your Skoda Kodiaq
Choose by generation. The 2021-2024 listing covers the first-generation Kodiaq, including the facelifted car. The 2025-2026 listing covers the current second-generation body, which is longer and has a different rear door shape. If your Kodiaq was built in 2024 or early 2025, check the build month on the compliance plate rather than the model year on the advertisement, because the changeover fell part-way through.
Covers: Front door windows, Rear door windows.
Installation
- Hold the shade up to the open door aperture and line the top edge up with the top of the window frame.
- Press the frame against the door surround so the magnets take hold, working from the top corners down.
- Run a finger around the edge to check there is no gap at the bottom of the glass.
- To remove, lift one top corner and peel the shade away in one movement, then store it flat.
Skoda Kodiaq sun shade FAQs
- Which set fits a 2024 Kodiaq?
- Most 2024 cars are the first-generation body and take the 2021-2024 set. The second-generation Kodiaq did not arrive in Australian showrooms until 2025, so check the build month on your compliance plate if the car was bought late in 2024.
- Do the shades cover the third-row quarter windows?
- No. These sets cover the front and rear door windows only. The fixed quarter glass behind the rear doors is not included.
- Are Skoda Kodiaq window shades legal in Australia?
- Rear door shades are legal in every state and can stay fitted while you drive. Front door shades should be removed before driving, because nothing may obstruct your view through the front side windows or your mirrors.
- Will they mark the door seals?
- No. The frame is fabric-wrapped and sits against the surround rather than clamping onto the seal, and there is nothing adhesive involved.
- My Kodiaq has factory tint. Is there any point?
- Yes. Factory privacy glass cuts some light but very little heat, and it does nothing about low-angle glare in the afternoon. The shades work on top of tint, not instead of it.
