Most shades are framed with flat steel wire. It corrodes, and its edge works through the mesh at the fold. Ours is round-profile 304 stainless — it doesn't rust, and it doesn't cut the fabric it sits in.

The mesh is open enough to see through from inside and dense enough to keep the cabin private from outside. Windows still wind down, and air still moves through.

The shades are fine, decent quality, fit OK. But I waited almost three weeks for something that said it was in stock. Should've just gone to Autobarn. When they eventually arrived they were good, so no issue with the actual product, just the wait.
Been through a Melbourne heatwave with these and they've been spot on. The car interior is noticeably cooler and the leather seats aren't scorching when you get in. The magnetic edge is thin enough that the window still closes properly if you need it to.
No drama with these at all. Put the front ones on and forgot they were there until someone asked where I got them. The way they sit flush against the window looks clean too, not all bumpy like suction cup ones get.
Does what I need. They're not the thickest shade material I've seen but they block enough. Magnets hold well. Courier left them at the wrong address initially which was annoying but that's not the product's fault. Would buy again.
Kids can actually look out the window now without squinting and complaining. Easy to put on, easy to take off if you need to. $40 odd bucks well spent.
