Honda Accord Sun Shades (1990–2022)

The Accord is the quiet mid-size sedan of Australian driveways — a comfortable highway car with a wide back bench that usually ends up carrying kids, grandparents or a car seat. Its rear doors are long and the glass is broad, so on a summer run down the Hume or across town at four in the afternoon the back seat cops the sun square on. Our shades are cut to the Accord's own door window outlines and hold on magnetically, so passengers get real shade on the move and the cabin isn't an oven after a day parked at work.

Why Honda Accord owners choose custom shades

Covers a wide rear door, properly

The Accord's back doors are long, which is exactly where a universal rectangle gives up and leaves a strip of bare glass at each end. A panel cut to that outline covers the whole window.

Comfort for the back bench on long drives

The Accord is a genuine tourer and the back seat is where the passengers end up. Cutting direct sun and glare back there makes a three-hour drive far less of an ordeal, and naps far more likely to hold.

A cooler cabin after a day parked

Sedans like this live in open commuter car parks. Keeping the sun off the seats and dash means the climate control isn't starting from a baking cabin every afternoon.

Privacy without touching the glass

Mesh panels make it much harder to see what's on the back seat in a shopping-centre car park, and they lift straight off — nothing stuck to the window, nothing to strip off before you sell the car.

Features

Cut per Accord generation

We hold separate patterns for the 1990–1993, 1994–1997, 2007–2013, 2013–2017 and 2018–2022 cars. The door glass changed shape between them, so you buy the set cut for your years.

Rear quarter and boot panels on the later cars

On the 2013–2017 and 2018–2022 Accords we also cut a pair for the small fixed quarter windows behind the rear doors, and a boot/tailgate window shade — available on their own or combined up to a complete all-windows set.

Magnetic mounting, no suction cups

The border grips the steel frame around the door glass. Nothing sticks to the window and nothing drops into the door card halfway down the freeway.

See-through mesh, stores flat

Like a fly screen — passengers can still watch the road go by and you keep a usable view in the mirrors. Lift a corner to take a panel off, and it folds flat into the door pocket.

Fitment for your Honda Accord

Read the Accord years carefully, because there is a big hole in the middle of them. We cut sets for 1990–1993, 1994–1997, 2007–2013, 2013–2017 and 2018–2022 — and we have nothing at all for an Accord built between 1998 and 2006. If your car falls in those nine years, please don't buy the set on either side of the gap hoping it's close enough; the door glass is a different shape and it won't sit right. Contact us with your build year and VIN and we'll tell you honestly whether we can cut yours. On the sets we do make: the 1990–1993, 1994–1997 and 2007–2013 Accords are door-window sets only — a front pair, a rear pair, or all four together, with no quarter-glass or rear-window panels. The 2013–2017 and 2018–2022 cars add a pair for the fixed rear quarter windows behind the back doors (listed as 'Third-Row Side Windows' — on a five-seat sedan that means the rear quarter glass, not a third row of seats) and a boot/tailgate window shade, plus combination sets up to the complete all-windows kit.

Covers: Front driver and passenger door windows, Rear passenger door windows, Rear quarter windows (2013–2017 and 2018–2022 Accord only), Boot / tailgate window (2013–2017 and 2018–2022 Accord only).

Installation

  1. Match each panel to its window — front, rear and quarter shapes are all different.
  2. Hold the magnetic border up to the steel frame around the glass and let it pull on.
  3. Run a finger around the edge so it sits flush into the corners of the frame.
  4. Peel from one corner to remove, then fold flat into the door pocket.

Honda Accord sun shade FAQs

My Accord is a 2003 — what fits it?
Nothing we currently make, and we'd rather say so up front. Our patterns stop at 1997 and don't pick up again until 2007, so every Accord built from 1998 to 2006 falls in the gap. Send us your build year and VIN and we'll check it properly, but please don't order a neighbouring set on the assumption it's close.
What are the 'third-row' windows on a sedan?
That's just the name the option carries in our catalogue. On the 2013–2017 and 2018–2022 Accord it means the pair of small fixed quarter windows behind the rear doors — the Accord is a five-seat sedan, so there's no third row of seats involved.
Can I buy just the rear pair?
Yes, and it's the most popular choice for parents. The rear pair covers the two back door windows, which is where a child seat or a napping passenger sits.
Can I leave them on while driving?
The rear shades are made to stay on. Fit the front pair while the car is parked — to pre-cool it before you get in — and take them off before you drive so the front side windows are clear.
Will they mark the paint or the glass?
They shouldn't — the magnets sit on the painted steel frame, not on the glass, and there is no adhesive involved. Wipe grit off the frame before fitting, the same as you would before wiping down a door.
