Holden Captiva Sun Shades (2007–2020)

The Captiva was the family SUV a lot of Australian households bought when the third row became non-negotiable — soccer runs, weekends away, and a boot full of gear. Seven seats mean a lot of glass, and the kids furthest back sit beside side windows with no visor and nothing to hide behind. Our panels are cut to the Captiva's own window shapes and hold on magnetically, so the second and third rows get real shade on the drive and the cabin isn't stifling after a day parked out in the open.

Why Holden Captiva owners choose custom shades

The third row is actually covered

On the 2007–2015 Captiva we cut a pair for the third-row side windows — the glass universal shades never reach. That's the hottest, brightest seat in the car and the one kids get put in on long trips.

Shade beside the child seats

The second-row door glass is where boosters and capsules sit. A rear pair puts shade exactly on that window instead of a one-size rectangle that leaves a strip of sun across a small face.

A cooler car at pick-up

A tall SUV with this much glass bakes in a Westfield car park. Keeping direct sun off the seats and trims means the air-con isn't starting from scratch when everyone piles in.

Privacy over a loaded boot

Prams, sports bags, the weekly shop. Mesh over the rear glass makes it much harder to see what's in the back, and the panels lift straight off — no film, no adhesive, nothing to remove at trade-in.

Features

Patterned per window position

Front doors, rear doors, third-row side glass and the boot window are all different shapes on this car, so each panel is cut to its own outline rather than trimmed from a generic sheet.

Magnetic mounting, no suction cups

The border grips the painted steel frame around the glass. Nothing sticks to the window and nothing falls into the door card when the kids wind a window down.

See-through mesh

Like a fly screen — passengers can still watch the road go by and you keep a usable view in the mirrors, while the bulk of direct sun and glare is blocked.

Buy the pieces you need, or the lot

On the 2007–2015 Captiva you can start with the rear pair and add the third-row pair or the boot window later, or take the complete set covering front, rear, third-row and boot in one go.

Fitment for your Holden Captiva

The two Captiva sets we list are not the same, so check your build year before ordering. The 2007–2015 Captiva has the full range: front pair, rear pair, four-piece door set, a third-row side window pair, a boot/tailgate window panel, the combination kits (rear doors + third row, rear doors + boot, front and rear doors + third row, front and rear doors + boot), and a complete set covering every one of those windows. The 2016–2020 Captiva is door windows only in our catalogue — front pair, rear pair, or all four together — with no third-row or boot panel available. If your car sits near the changeover, or you're not sure which body you have, send us the build year and VIN and we'll confirm the pattern before we cut.

Covers: Front driver and passenger door windows, Second-row (rear) door windows, Third-row side windows (2007–2015 only), Boot / tailgate window (2007–2015 only).

Installation

  1. Match each panel to its window — front, rear and third-row shapes are all different.
  2. Hold the magnetic border up to the steel frame around the glass and let it pull on.
  3. Run a finger around the edge so it sits flush into the corners of the frame.
  4. Peel from one corner to remove, then fold the panels flat into a door pocket or the boot.

Holden Captiva sun shade FAQs

Do you make a third-row shade for the Captiva?
Yes, for the 2007–2015 Captiva — a pair cut for the third-row side windows, sold on its own or bundled with the rear doors and the rest of the car. The 2016–2020 Captiva set doesn't include third-row panels.
Which Captiva set fits my car?
Go by build year. One pattern covers 2007–2015 and the other 2016–2020. The window shapes differ, so if you're on a changeover year send us the build year and VIN and we'll confirm which one matches.
Can I just get the rear pair to start with?
Yes — it's the most common first purchase for families, since it covers the two second-row door windows where child seats sit. You can add the third-row pair or the boot panel later on the 2007–2015 car.
Can I leave them on while driving?
The rear, third-row and boot shades are made to stay on. Fit the front pair while the car is parked to pre-cool it, and take those off before you drive so the front side windows are clear.
Will they mark the paint or the glass?
They shouldn't — the magnets sit on the painted steel frame, not on the glass, and there's no adhesive involved. Wipe grit off the frame before fitting, the same as you would before wiping down a door.
