Volvo XC60 Sun Shades
The XC60's rear door window is long and deep, which is lovely for the view and unkind to whoever is sitting back there on a hot afternoon. A shade cut to that exact opening fills the frame corner to corner, so there is no bare strip left along the top edge for the sun to come through — which is the usual failure of a universal shade stretched over a Volvo's tapering glass. Every set is patterned off a measured XC60 rather than a size chart, fitted to the car and checked before it goes on sale.

Why Volvo XC60 owners choose custom shades
No gap along the top edge
The XC60's rear glass narrows towards the back of the door. A shade cut to that shape sits flush all the way along, instead of leaving the triangular gap a rectangular universal shade always leaves behind.
The back seat stops cooking
Dense black mesh takes the direct sun off a child seat or a passenger's face and knocks the glare down, which is most of what anyone in the second row actually notices on a long drive.
Windows still wind down
The shade stays put with the glass lowered and keeps blocking sun, dust and insects — handy in stop-start traffic or waiting in the school pick-up line.
Nothing stuck to the glass
No suction cups to let go on a hot window and no adhesive on the trim. The shades go on and come off in seconds, so they can live in the boot between trips.
Features
100% black polyester mesh
Blocks UV and cuts cabin heat and glare. You can see out clearly from inside, while it is harder to see in from outside. It works alongside existing window film — and well enough on its own that you do not need film on the side glass.
Measured on the car, not from a table
Each pattern is taken off an actual XC60, produced at the workshop, refitted to the car and adjusted until it passes. Only the finished, fitted car is photographed before the product goes to market.
Buy the pieces you need
Front pair from $49.99, rear pair from $69.99, the four-piece door set from $108.99, and the boot window panel from $69.99. Front and rear doors plus the boot window is $165.
No damage to the door seals
Because the dimensions are exact, the shades sit in the frame without warping or putting pressure on the rubber seals.
Fitment for your Volvo XC60
Cut to the XC60's door apertures. Front door shades stop short of the mirror line so your side vision, mirrors and reach to toll and parking cards stay clear; rear door shades cover the full opening. The boot window panel is a separate piece and can be bought on its own or with any door set. If your XC60 has a factory sunroof, the sunroof panel is also listed separately.
Covers: Front door windows (driver and passenger), Rear door windows, Boot / tailgate window, Sunroof panel (listed separately).
Installation
- Wipe the door frame so the shade seats cleanly against it.
- Hold the panel to the top of the opening and let it find the frame.
- Work along the edge so the mesh sits flat with no slack in the middle.
- Check from outside that nothing is proud of the door line, then close the door.
- Take the front shades off before highway speeds.
Volvo XC60 sun shade FAQs
- Will these fit my year of XC60?
- The listing covers the XC60 generations we have patterns for. Check the year range shown on the product page before ordering, and if your car sits outside it, send us the make, model and build date and we will tell you whether we have a cut for it.
- Are car window shades legal in Australia?
- Mesh shades on the rear side windows are not an issue anywhere in Australia. Front door shades are cut short so the driver's view and mirrors stay clear, and we recommend taking them off at highway speeds. Road rules on obstructing a driver's view are set state by state, so check your own if you are unsure.
- Which set should I start with?
- The rear pair, if anyone rides in the back. That is where a booster or rear-facing seat sits and where the sun lands hardest. Add the boot window panel if the cargo area takes direct afternoon sun with a pram, the shopping or a dog in it.
- Do they work with the XC60's factory tint?
- Yes. The shade sits in the door frame rather than on the glass, so it works on top of whatever tint or film the car already has.
- Can I leave them on while parked?
- Yes, and that is when they do the most for cabin temperature. They are a comfort accessory though, not a safety device — never leave a child or a pet in a parked car, shades or no shades.
