Hyundai Window Shades Australia: 43 Fits, and the Window Most Sets Miss

Auto Sunshades Team

Hyundai has been selling cars in Australia long enough that the range on the road now spans about twenty-five years — Getz hatchbacks still doing school runs, i30s everywhere, and Palisades and Santa Fes doing the long-haul family work.

That spread is the reason we cut 43 Hyundai fits, more than any make except Toyota. It also means the answer to "which set do I need" changes a lot depending on which Hyundai you're in.

In stock now

Thirteen Hyundai fits ship rather than wait:

Tucson 2022–2025 · Santa Fe 2019–2023 · Palisade · Kona · i30 2013–2019 · Elantra 2011–2016, 2017–2020 and 2021–2025 · Sonata 2005–2009 and 2015–2019 · Getz · iLoad (Starex) 2010–2016 · Venue 2020–2025

The remaining thirty are made to order on a one-to-two week lead time.

Tucson: the one with the extra window

That photo is worth a look, because it shows something most shade listings never picture. There are two shades in it: the big one on the rear door glass, and a second, narrower one on the fixed quarter pane behind it.

The 2022-on Tucson has a pronounced kick in the glass line towards the C-pillar, and that quarter window is a genuine piece of glass — not a trim panel. A universal shade covers the door and leaves the quarter light completely open, which puts a bright strip right beside a rear passenger's head.

We cut that pane as a separate two-piece set, $49.99. In the shop it's labelled "Third-Row Side Windows", which is a leftover from the seven-seat naming. On a Tucson it's the quarter glass.

Tucson patterns run 2002–2009, 2009–2015, 2016–2021 and 2022–2025. Four generations, four different cuts. The earlier three are door sets only; the current car gets the full range.

Palisade and Santa Fe

The Palisade is the biggest thing Hyundai sells here and the one where the four-piece set is most likely to disappoint. It carries the full ten-set range — doors, quarter glass, boot — and if the back row is occupied, the front-and-rear four-piece leaves it untouched.

Santa Fe splits by generation in an important way. The 2019–2023 and 2024–2025 cars get the full range. The three earlier generations — 2000–2006, 2007–2013 and 2013–2018 — are currently listed with door sets only. If you're in an older Santa Fe and want the rear cargo glass covered, ask before ordering.

i30, Elantra and the commuters

The i30 is the Hyundai people search for most, and the fitment is simpler than the SUVs: door sets for the 2007–2012 and 2013–2019 cars, with the i30 CW wagon cut separately and including the boot window. The wagon's rear glass is the one worth adding — it's large, near-vertical, and it bakes whatever is in the back.

Elantra runs three brackets: 2011–2016, 2017–2020 and 2021–2025. All three are in stock. The 2011–2016 car carries the quarter-window set as well.

Accent, Avante, Verna, i10 and i20 round out the small cars. Watch the body style — i10 hatch and i10 sedan are separate patterns, as are the Accent hatch and Accent sedan, and the year brackets don't line up between them.

The ones nobody else covers

iLoad / Starex 2010–2016 — in stock. Vans are a category universal shades ignore entirely, and a shaded rear cabin makes a real difference on a work vehicle that sits in the sun all day.

Getz — in stock, and the Getz stopped being sold here in 2011. That's the point of cutting to pattern: the car is fifteen years old and there is still a set that fits it properly.

Solati 16-seat, Custin, Stargazer, Veloster, iX55, i45 — all made to order.

How they fit

A flexible magnetic edge grips the painted steel around the window aperture. Nothing contacts the glass, so tint underneath is unaffected and there's no residue when the shade comes off. The window winds down with the shade in place.

Black polyester mesh, see-through from the inside — in the Tucson photo you can read the courtyard and the tree through both panels. Rear passengers keep their outward view, which matters more than people expect on a long drive.

UV and heat figures for the fabric are supplied by our manufacturer and describe the material, not a tested vehicle. The part we'll state flatly is the fit: cut to your aperture, there are no corner gaps, and the corners are where sun reaches a passenger.

What you can drive with

Rear doors, quarter windows and boot glass are fine while moving. The windscreen and both front side windows have to stay clear — that's the rule in every state and territory. Front-door pieces are cut back to keep the mirror visible but remain a parked-only item.

State-by-state detail is in the legal guide.

Questions

What is the "Third-Row Side Windows" set on my Tucson? The fixed quarter pane behind the rear door. The name comes from the seven-seat sets; on a five-seat Tucson, Elantra or Kona it's the quarter glass.

Will a 2019 Tucson set fit a 2023? No. The 2022 car is a different pattern. Order by the year bracket on the listing.

Which Santa Fe do I have? The 2019 redesign is the dividing line for fitment. If you're between generations, send the VIN.

Do you cover the iLoad's rear barn doors? The listed sets cover the cab side windows. Ask about the rear if you need it.

My Hyundai isn't here. Send model, year and VIN. Some cars sit under a different market name — the i45 is listed as Sonata, the iX55 as Veracruz, and the Avante is the Elantra in other markets.
