Land Rover and Range Rover Sun Shades, Matched by Body

Auto Sunshades Team

Land Rover is the hardest make we sell to match by name. Vogue, Supercharged and Autobiography are trim levels, not models, and Land Rover has used each of them across more than one body. Our listings carry the names our pattern maker gave them, so a listing called "Supercharged" tells you less than you'd hope.

So this page goes the other way. We looked at the workshop photos on every Land Rover and Range Rover listing and worked out which body each set was actually cut on. Where we can't tell, we say so.

What every Land Rover listing has in common

All ten listings are door sets only: the front pair at $49.99, the rear pair at $69.99, or all four doors at $108.99. We don't cut a tailgate panel or quarter glass for any Land Rover. None of the listings names a mount type, so check the product page for how each set fits.

Several of these sets are made to order rather than on the shelf, which adds one to three weeks before dispatch. The product page shows which.

Range Rover Sport, 2014–2022

This is the clearest of the lot. The photos are of a second-generation Sport with tan leather, and the listing's years match that car. A Victorian customer with a 2014 Sport ordered the rear pair this month. The Range Rover Sport page has the same listing.

The one caution is at the top of the range. Land Rover brought out an all-new Sport in 2022, so if your car is a 2022 build, check the compliance plate and send us a rear-door photo before ordering.

The full-size Range Rover: three names, one shape

The Autobiography, the 2016–2022 Supercharged and the 2013–2022 Vogue listings are where the names get in the way. Going by the door cards, window shape and trim in the photos, the Autobiography and the 2016–2022 Supercharged sets were both cut on the full-size Range Rover sold from 2013. The Vogue listing has no workshop photos, but its years cover the same car. All three are priced the same.

In other words, the trim on your badge matters less than the build date. If your Range Rover was built between 2013 and 2021, any of these three should be the right shape, but send us the build month and we'll point you to the one we'd use. Land Rover replaced the Range Rover with an all-new model during 2022, so a 2022 build could be either body. Please check with us first.

The long-wheelbase Autobiography

The LWB listing is cut for the long-wheelbase version, which has a longer rear door. The LWB rear pieces won't fit a standard-length car, and the standard rear pieces won't fit an LWB.

The Autobiography badge was used on both lengths, so before you order the LWB set, confirm which wheelbase you have. A photo of the side of the car with both doors shut, or the build date and VIN on the compliance plate, is enough for us to tell.

Range Rover Supercharged, 2009–2015

This listing doesn't line up with its own years. The workshop photos show the older full-size Range Rover, with a different door card and handle layout from the 2013-on car above.

That older body was replaced in 2013. So if your Supercharged was built from 2009 to 2012, this is your listing. If it was built from 2013 to 2015, it is almost certainly the newer shape, and one of the three listings in the section above is more likely to fit. Send us the build month before ordering either way.

Velar, 2016–2019

The photos are a Velar, and the Velar has only had one body. The listing's years end at 2019, though, and we haven't checked a later car against the pattern. If yours is a 2020 or later build, send a rear-door photo first.

Evoque

The Evoque listing has no years. The photos show the first-generation Evoque, the five-door, and both of our recent Evoque orders were first-generation cars, a 2012 in New South Wales and a 2016 in Victoria. The Evoque page lists it as the 2013–2018 car.

The second-generation Evoque arrived in 2019 with a new body. We haven't checked our set against it, so if your Evoque is a 2019 or later build, ask before ordering. The three-door and convertible Evoques are different shapes again, and the set isn't cut for them.

Discovery Sport HSE

HSE is a trim, and the set is cut for the Discovery Sport body, so the trim level doesn't matter. Our photos are of an earlier car with tan leather. Land Rover updated the Discovery Sport for 2020, and the listing has no years, so for a 2020 or later car we'd like a rear-door photo before you buy. We don't cut the quarter glass behind the rear doors, or the full-size Discovery.

Defender

The Defender listing has no photos and no years, and two very different cars have worn the name: the old square-bodied Defender and the new one launched in 2020. The listing is front and rear doors, so it is for a four-door car, but we can't tell you from the listing which Defender it was cut on. Please send us a photo of your car and an open rear door before ordering. We'd rather check than send a set cut for the other body. If the Defender is a touring car for you, our 4WD touring guide covers how shades fit into a trip.

Driving with them in

The rear door shades are fine around town. Front door shades are for when the car is parked: they are cut back from the mirror, but the windscreen and front side windows have to stay clear when you're moving, in every state and territory. Our guide to whether car sun shades are legal covers the rules. The shades hold in normal driving, but take them off before a highway run.

Ordering

Start with the build date on the compliance plate, not the badge. Our guide to build dates and generations shows where to find it. Then match the body in the table above. For a full-size Range Rover from 2013 to 2021, a Sport from 2014 to 2021, a 2017 to 2019 Velar or a first-generation five-door Evoque, the photos line up and you can order. For a 2022 Range Rover or Sport, a 2013 to 2015 Supercharged, a later Velar, Evoque or Discovery Sport, an LWB or any Defender, send us a photo or the build month first.

Most owners start with the rear pair, and our guide to choosing which windows to cover explains why. If a set doesn't fit the way it should, you have 30 days to send it back under our returns policy.

The rest of the European makes we cut, from Volvo and Porsche to Mini and Peugeot, are in our European car window shades guide, and every Land Rover listing is collected on the Land Rover brand page.
