Kia Window Shades Australia: All 35 Fits, and Which Set Your Model Needs
Kia's Australian range splits cleanly into three groups, and each one wants something different from a set of shades.
There's the school-run fleet — Carnival, Sorento, Sportage. There's the small stuff people actually commute in — Cerato, Seltos, Rio, Picanto. And then there's a long tail of older nameplates that still turn up in driveways everywhere, the Optima and Rondo and Soul and Spectra, which nobody makes universal shades for any more.
We cut for 35 Kia fits, and that tail is most of them.

The other 29 are made to order, roughly one to two weeks. That covers the Rio, Picanto, Optima, Rondo, Spectra, Sonet, Soluto, Ray, the older Sportages and Ceratos, and the Grand Carnival.
Sportage
The current Sportage has a rear door window that rises sharply towards the C-pillar, and a separate quarter window behind it. That second piece of glass is the one universal shades ignore completely — they're sized for the door, so the quarter light stays clear and the sun comes straight through it onto whoever is sitting in the back.
We cut that quarter glass as its own two-piece set, $49.99. It's listed as "Third-Row Side Windows" in the shop, which is a hangover from the seven-seat naming — on a Sportage it's the rear quarter panes, not a third row.

The 2011–2016 and 2017–2022 Sportages are cut from separate patterns. The generation change moved the beltline, so a set from one won't sit right on the other.
Carnival
The Carnival is the one where set choice matters most, because it has more glass than anything else Kia sells and eight people sitting behind it.
Sliding doors are the complication. A stretch-fit shade bunches the moment the door tracks back, and a suction screen loses grip against the door's movement. A frame-mounted shade doesn't care — it's gripping the painted steel around the aperture, and the door slides normally underneath it.
If the third row gets used, the four-piece front-and-rear set leaves the hottest seats in the vehicle completely bare. Rear doors plus the third row at $99.99 solves the actual complaint. We've written the Carnival up in full in a dedicated guide.
Sorento
Currently listed with door sets only — front pair $49.99, rear pair $59.99, all four $99.99. If you're after the third row or the tailgate on a Sorento, get in touch before ordering rather than assuming; that fitment isn't listed yet.
Cerato, Seltos and the small cars
The Cerato is the most-searched Kia we cut after the Carnival, and there are four separate patterns for it: the 2004–2008 car, the older hatch, the 2015–2018 K3, and the 2019–2025 K3. Sedan and hatch are cut separately where the body styles differ. Check both the year and the shape.
Seltos and Cerato 2019–2025 both carry the full ten-set range including quarter windows and boot glass. Seltos is in stock.
For the Rio, Picanto and Soluto, sets are door-only, which suits the body — there's little else worth shading on a small hatch beyond the rear doors and the tailgate.
The older nameplates
This is where custom-cut earns its keep. Nobody stocks a universal shade that fits a 2010 Optima or a Rondo properly, because there's no volume in it. Every one of these is a made-to-order pattern:

If you drive one of these, the shade is cut from the pattern for your car rather than approximated from something near enough.
How they fit
A magnetic edge sewn into fabric grips the painted steel frame. Nothing touches the glass, so factory tint underneath is unaffected, there's no residue, and the window still winds down with the shade in place.
The mesh is black polyester and see-through from inside — in the Sportage photo above you can make out the shopfront across the street through it. Rear passengers keep their view, which matters on a long drive with kids who get carsick behind blacked-out glass.
UV and heat figures for the fabric come from our manufacturer and describe the material rather than a tested vehicle. The claim we'd make without hedging is about fit: cut to your door aperture, there are no corner gaps, and corner gaps are where sun actually lands on a passenger.
What's legal
Rear doors, quarter windows and boot glass are fine to drive with. Windscreen and both front side windows must be clear while the car is moving — that applies in every state. Our front pieces are cut back to keep the mirror visible, but they're still a parked-only item.

Questions we get
Will a 2019 Sportage set fit my 2023? No. Different generation, different pattern. Order by the year bracket shown on the listing.
What's the "Third-Row Side Windows" set on my five-seater? The rear quarter panes behind the back doors. The name is left over from the seven-seat sets. On a Sportage, Seltos or Cerato it's the small fixed glass, not a third row.
Does the Carnival set work with the sliding doors? Yes. The shade mounts to the door frame, so the door slides and the window winds down normally.
My Kia isn't listed. Send model, year and VIN. With 35 patterns already cut there's a fair chance yours exists under a different market name — Cerato and Forte are the same car, as are Picanto and Morning, and Rondo and Carens.
