Mitsubishi Triton Sun Shades — Four Generations, and the Year That Sits in Two of Them
The Triton is cut into four generations, which is more than any other ute in the catalogue. That is a good thing if you know your build year and an annoying thing if you do not, so start with the year and everything else follows.

The four Triton cuts
| Build years | Also searched as | Product |
|---|---|---|
| 2008–2015 | L200 | Triton 2008–2015 |
| 2015–2018 | L200 | Triton 2015–2018 |
| 2019–2023 | Triton MQ, Triton MR | Triton 2019–2023 |
| 2024–2026 | L200 | Triton 2024–2026 |
All four are from $49.99, and all four have been photographed on a real ute rather than rendered.
L200 is the name the Triton wears in most export markets. If you have been searching "L200 window shades" and getting overseas results, these are the Australian listings you want. MQ and MR are the series codes the 2019–2023 listing is also carried under.
2015 is in two listings
The 2008–2015 set closes on 2015 and the 2015–2018 set opens on it. The Triton changed body partway through that year, so a ute registered as a 2015 can belong on either side of the line.
We do not publish a cutoff month or a chassis prefix for this, because we do not have one we can stand behind and a guess would cost you a return. What works:
- Read the compliance plate on the door jamb. It gives the build month and year, which is the figure that decides it. Rego papers give the model year, which does not.
- Send us that build month before you order and we will point you at the right one of the two.
The same care is worth taking at the 2018/2019 and the 2023/2024 boundaries, for the same reason — a build late in one year is sometimes the next body.
Nothing before 2008
Triton coverage starts at 2008. There is no set for the utes before that, at any price, and we would rather tell you now than have you order the 2008–2015 set and find the rear door glass is a different shape. If your Triton predates 2008, custom-fit magnetic shades are not something we can supply.
The Mitsubishis that get ordered as a Triton
Three of them, regularly:
- Pajero Sport — the wagon built off the Triton, and a genuinely different set of windows. It has its own two listings: 2009–2017 (also carried as Challenger) and 2018–2025 (Montero Sport, Shogun Sport, Challenger). Shared mechanicals do not mean shared glass — the wagon has rear quarter and tailgate windows the ute does not.
- Pajero — the older body-on-frame wagons, cut by chassis code rather than by name: V43 1991–1999, V45 1994–1999, V73 2000–2006 and V93 2015–2019. If you drive one of these, the code is on the compliance plate and it is the fastest way to land on the right listing.
- Outlander and ASX — passenger SUVs with nothing in common with the ute. Outlander and ASX are separate listings.
Cab and trim do not change the set
Same build year, same door glass, same set — grade makes no difference. What changes the cut is the body and the year, which is why every question on this page comes back to the compliance plate.
Sets cover the side door and, where fitted, boot or tailgate glass. We do not sell a windscreen product.
Start here
Pick your build year from the table. If you are on the 2015 line, message us with the plate details first — it is a one-message answer. There is also a Triton fitment page if you want the short version, and a Pajero Sport page if it turns out the wagon is what you are actually shading.
