Small electric hatch · 2025 onwards
Geely EX2 Sun Shades
The EX2 is the small end of Geely's electric range, and small cars heat up fastest. There is less cabin air to warm, the door glass is close to whoever is sitting beside it, and a short park in the sun is enough to make the back seat unpleasant. That is the case for shades on a car like this rather than against it. Cutting the sun off the door openings keeps the cabin closer to ambient while it is parked, so the climate system has less to undo when you get back in — and on an electric car that recovery run comes out of the battery. The EX2 is new enough in Australia that nothing generic is cut to its windows, so these are patterned on the EX2's own door glass.

Why Geely EX2 owners choose custom shades
A small cabin stays closer to ambient
Less air to heat means a small hatch gets hot faster than a big SUV, and it is why shades make a bigger difference here than people expect. Keeping the direct sun off the glass is what slows that down.
Shorter cooling run on the battery
Air conditioning a hot car back down to comfortable is energy the battery pays for. On the short urban trips an EX2 is built for, that recovery run is a meaningful share of what the drive costs.
The back seat out of direct sun
Rear door glass on a small hatch sits close to the passenger, so a child seat is right against it. The rear panels cover the whole door opening rather than part of it.
On and off in seconds
Nothing sticks to the glass and nothing needs peeling off. The panels sit in the door frame, come out in seconds and store flat — which matters in a car that has no room to spare.
Features
Cut to EX2 door glass
Each panel is patterned to the EX2's door openings so it sits flush rather than bowed. Small hatch doors have tight corner radii, and that is precisely where an approximate shade leaves a gap.
No suction cups
The shade seats in the door surround, not against the window. Nothing to leave a ring on the glass, and nothing to let go once the car warms up in the afternoon.
Works with the window down
Because the panel holds in the frame, you can drop the window and leave the shade in place — still blocking sun, and now also dust and insects.
Mesh, not film
100% black polyester mesh. It layers over factory tint if the EX2 has it, and does the job on its own if it does not, without committing you to film on the side glass.
Fitment for your Geely EX2

These are made to order rather than held in stock, so expect a lead time rather than same-day dispatch — check the product page for current availability before you order. Installation
- Wipe the door frame down so the shade seats cleanly against the rubber.
- Hold the panel to the top of the door opening first and let it find the frame.
- Work down each side, pressing the edge into the frame so it sits flat.
- Check the front panels leave your mirror view clear before you drive off.
Geely EX2 sun shade FAQs
- Is the EX2 held in stock or made to order?
- Made to order. The pattern for the EX2 is confirmed, but sets are produced rather than shelved, so there is a lead time. The product page carries current availability.
- Are these legal to use while driving in Australia?
- On the rear door windows, yes, in every state and territory. On the front doors the driver must keep a clear view of the road and both side mirrors, so the front panels are cut short of the mirror line. Nothing goes over the windscreen while the car is moving.
- Do shades help the EX2's range?
- Indirectly. They do not change how far the battery drives the car; they cut how much energy the climate system spends recovering from a hot park. On short city trips that recovery is a larger share of the total, so it is where the saving shows.
- Will they fit over aftermarket tint?
- Yes. The panels sit in the door frame and never touch the glass, so tint makes no difference to the fit.
- What if I have the EX2 and it is not listed when I check?
- Send through the make, model and build-plate details. The EX2 is a recent arrival here and new vehicles are patterned to order, so an unfamiliar variant is a question of confirming measurements rather than a dead end.
