Hyundai Elantra Sun Shades (2011–2025)
Also known as: Hyundai i30 Sedan
The Elantra has been a fixture of Australian driveways for well over a decade — first cars, family second cars, and plenty of them doing rideshare work. It's a low sedan with a long, swept-back glasshouse, so rear passengers sit close to the door glass with nothing but a headrest between them and the sun. Our panels are cut to the Elantra's own window outlines and hold on magnetically, so the back seat gets shade on the drive and the cabin isn't an oven after a day parked at work.

Why Hyundai Elantra owners choose custom shades
Shade exactly where a child seat sits
In a sedan this size a booster sits hard against the rear door glass. The rear pair covers that whole window rather than a universal rectangle that leaves a band of sun across a small face.
Cuts low-sun glare on the commute
The Elantra's side glass is low and raked. A westerly sun on the way home comes in under the visor line and straight at eye level in the back — mesh takes the sting out of it.
Cooler cabin while parked
A dark-trimmed sedan sitting in an uncovered car park through a Queensland or NSW summer gets brutally hot. Keeping direct sun off the seats and dash makes the first few minutes bearable.
Privacy without touching the glass
Mesh makes it much harder to see what's on the back seat at the shops, and panels lift straight off — nothing stuck to the window, nothing to strip out before you sell the car.
Features
Cut per generation, per window
The Elantra's door glass changed shape across the three generations we cover, so each pattern is taken from that specific car's window outlines and follows the frame instead of sitting square across the glass.
Magnetic mounting, no suction cups
The border grips the painted steel frame around the door glass. Nothing sticks to the window and nothing drops into the door card halfway down the motorway.
See-through mesh
Like a fly screen — passengers can still watch the road go by and you keep a usable view in the mirrors, while the bulk of direct sun and glare is blocked.
Boot-window and combination sets
All three Elantra generations we cover have a boot/tailgate window panel, sold on its own or bundled with the rear pair or all four doors — worth having when the sun sits behind you on a long run.
Fitment for your Hyundai Elantra
We cut three Elantra patterns and they follow the generations: 2011–2016, 2017–2020 and 2021–2025. All three cover the four door windows (front pair, rear pair or all four) and add a boot/tailgate window panel plus combination kits pairing it with the rear doors or the whole car. The 2011–2016 set has two extra pieces the later cars don't: a pair for the small rear quarter windows behind the back doors (listed under the generic 'third-row side windows' name — the Elantra is a five-seat sedan, so on your car these are the rear quarter panes), and a complete set that takes in every window at once. Order by build year rather than by eye, and if your car sits on a changeover year send us the year and VIN and we'll confirm the pattern first.
Covers: Front driver and passenger door windows, Rear passenger door windows, Rear quarter windows (2011–2016 only), Boot / tailgate window.
Installation
- Match each panel to its window — the front, rear and quarter shapes are all different.
- Hold the magnetic border up to the steel frame around the glass and let it pull on.
- Run a finger around the edge so it sits flush into the corners of the frame.
- Peel from one corner to remove, then fold the panel flat into the door pocket.
Hyundai Elantra sun shade FAQs
- Which Elantra set fits my car?
- Go by build year — we cut separate patterns for 2011–2016, 2017–2020 and 2021–2025. The door glass changed shape between them, so if you're on a changeover year send us the build year and VIN and we'll confirm which pattern matches.
- My Elantra is badged i30 Sedan — is that the same car?
- Hyundai has used both names in Australia over this period. Don't order on the badge alone: tell us the build year and VIN and we'll match your car to the right pattern before anything is cut.
- What is the 'third-row side windows' option on the 2011–2016 set?
- That's a generic option name from our range. On a five-seat Elantra sedan those panels are for the small rear quarter windows behind the back doors — there's no third row in this car.
- Is there a rear window shade?
- Yes. All three Elantra generations we cover have a boot/tailgate window panel, available on its own or bundled with the rear doors or all four doors.
- Can I leave them on while driving?
- The rear, quarter and boot shades are made to stay on. Fit the front pair while the car is parked to pre-cool it, and take those off before you drive so the front side windows are clear.
