LandCruiser and Prado Sun Shades — Seven Cuts, One Badge, and the Years With Nothing

This is one article and not two on purpose. "LandCruiser" and "Prado" are the same badge on two different vehicles, the wrong one gets ordered constantly, and the only way to fix that is to put all seven listings on one page and let you find yours.

If you already know your chassis code, jump to the table. If you do not, the code is on the compliance plate in the door jamb or under the bonnet, and it is the single most reliable thing on your car for this purpose — more reliable than the model year, the trim, or what the dealer called it.

LandCruiser or Prado?

They are different cars with different glass, so this has to be settled before anything else.

• The Prado is the mid-size wagon — the one most families and tourers actually have. Its listings are named Prado and run from 2004.
• The LandCruiser proper is the large wagon, and we cut it by chassis code: 80, 100, 200, 300 Series. If your compliance plate carries one of those codes, take the matching listing.

If the plate settles it, you are done. If it does not, send us a photo of the plate — this is a two-minute answer and it is cheaper for both of us than a return.

The years with nothing, stated plainly

Four gaps are worth knowing before you spend money.

No 70 Series set. There is no LandCruiser 70 Series listing in the catalogue at all — no 76, no 78, no 79. That covers a lot of working utes and troop carriers across Australia and we do not want anyone assuming an LC80 set will do. It will not. If you drive a 70 Series, we cannot supply a custom-fit set for it.

No 2023 Prado. Prado coverage runs 2004–2022 and picks up again at 2024. A 2023-build Prado falls between the two listings. If your paperwork says 2023, read the compliance plate before you write the idea off — a build month late in 2023 or early in 2024 is worth checking with us, because the number that matters is the build, not the model year.

Nothing before 1990 for the LandCruiser, and nothing before 2004 for the Prado. Earlier vehicles are not in the range.

The chassis-code boundaries are clean. LC80 ends 1999 and LC100 starts 2000; LC100 ends 2010 and LC200 starts 2011; LC200 ends 2021 and LC300 starts 2022. Unlike the HiLux and the Triton, no LandCruiser year appears in two listings — so if your plate gives a code, that is the whole answer.

Trim does not change the cut

For a given chassis code and build year the door glass is the same whatever the grade, so the set is the same. The seven listings above are the only variable.

Sets cover the side door and, where fitted, boot or tailgate and third-row glass — on a seven-seat Prado or a 200 Series, most of the glass your passengers sit against. There is no windscreen product in the range and never has been.

Toyota wagons that are not either of these

• Fortuner — separate vehicle, separate listings: 2007–2016 and 2017–2025.
• 4Runner — 1984–2009 and 2009–2024. Note that 2009 sits in both, so a 2009 4Runner needs the same compliance-plate check the boundary years get everywhere else.
• Kluger — the road-going seven-seater, cut as 2008–2014 and 2014–2020, with 2014 in both. It is not a LandCruiser in any sense that matters to a window.
