Suzuki Fronx Sun Shades
Small cars suffer most in the sun, and for a simple reason: there is less air in the cabin for the same amount of glass, so the inside temperature climbs faster and further. The Fronx is also the kind of car that lives on the street or in an open car park rather than a garage, which is where shades earn their keep. The difficulty with a Fronx specifically is the shape of its openings - the rear door glass is short and angles sharply upwards at the back, following the coupe-ish roofline. A rectangular universal panel cannot sit in that, so it either stands proud at the top corner or leaves a gap along the bottom. These are cut to the actual opening, which is the only way to get a small, angled window to seal.

Why Suzuki Fronx owners choose custom shades
A small cabin cools down faster when it heats up less
Less cabin volume means the air temperature moves quickly in both directions. Keeping the sun out while the Fronx is parked means there is far less heat to shift when you get in, and a small car's air conditioning does not have to work at full tilt for the first ten minutes of every trip.
Shaped to the angled rear glass
The Fronx's rear door window tapers towards the back. A panel measured to that taper sits in the seal along its whole length instead of bridging it, which is the difference between a shade that looks factory-fitted and one that obviously is not.
Rear seat usable with a child in it
In a car this size a child seat sits right against the door. Full-opening coverage on the rear doors keeps the sun off the occupant rather than just off the lower half of the glass.
Nothing stuck to the window
The panels magnetise to the steel door surround. No suction cups to let go on hot glass, no adhesive, no marks left behind when you take them off.
Features
Measured on the vehicle
Each panel is taken from an actual Fronx, produced, refitted and adjusted until it sits flush. The Fronx is new enough in Australia that there is no older model to borrow measurements from.
Front panels cut to keep the mirror clear
The front-door shades stop short of the mirror line, so the driver keeps a clear view down both sides and can still reach a parking ticket or toll tag.
100% black polyester mesh
Dense enough to cut glare and UV, open enough to see out of from inside. From outside it reads as tinted glass.
On and off in seconds
No tools and no adhesive, and the panels stay put with the window wound down - so you can have airflow without the sun, dust or insects.
Fitment for your Suzuki Fronx
Cut for the Australian-delivered Suzuki Fronx. The sets cover the four opening door windows: order the front pair, the rear pair, or the four-piece set. The Fronx is a recent arrival here, so if yours is a later build or a different trim, send us the build plate details and we will confirm nothing has changed in the glass before you order.
Covers: Front door windows (2 pcs), Rear door windows (2 pcs), Front and rear door windows (4 pcs).
Installation
- Wipe the door frame down so the magnets seat cleanly.
- Start at the tall end of the opening and let the magnets take the panel.
- Work along towards the narrow rear corner, pressing the edge into the rubber.
- Check the front panels leave your mirror view clear before setting off.
- Store the panels flat rather than folded so the angled edge stays true.
Suzuki Fronx sun shade FAQs
- Do small cars really need custom shades?
- More than large ones, if anything. A smaller cabin holds less air, so the same amount of sun through the glass pushes the temperature higher and faster. The Fronx's windows are also an awkward shape, which is precisely where off-the-shelf panels fail to seal.
- Are they legal to use while driving in Australia?
- On the rear door windows, yes, in every state and territory. On the front doors the driver must keep a clear view of the road and both side mirrors, which is why the front panels are cut short of the mirror line. Nothing goes over the windscreen while the car is moving.
- Will they fit if my Fronx has factory tint?
- Yes. The panels hold to the metal door frame and never contact the glass, so tint makes no difference to the fit. Tint works on the glass, the mesh covers the opening, and the two together are better than either alone.
- Can I still wind the window down?
- Yes, and the shade keeps working. Because it sits in the frame rather than on the glass, dropping the window gives you airflow while the mesh still blocks sun, dust and insects.
- What if my Fronx is not listed when I check?
- Send through the make, model and build plate details. The Fronx arrived here recently and we pattern new vehicles to order, so a trim or model-year variation we have not measured yet is a question of confirming dimensions rather than a dead end.
