Holden Window Shades Australia: All 15 Fits, and the Big Ones We Do Not Cut

Holden stopped building cars in 2017 and the badge was retired in 2020. Every Holden on the road in Australia today is a used car, which changes what you need from a fitment page. You are not choosing between trim levels on a new-car order form. You are working out whether anyone still cuts a shade for a fourteen-year-old Captiva, and if so, under what name.

Start with what we do not cut

Because the badge is gone, this is the more useful half of the page, and there is no polite way to phrase it:

• There is no Commodore cut. Not VE, not VF, not the ZB. Australia's best-selling car for most of the 1990s and 2000s is not on our list in any bodystyle.
• There is no Astra hatch cut. There is an Astra sedan — see below — but the hatch is not listed.
• The Barina listings carry no year split at all — what exists is the Barina (Aveo) cut and the Gentra pair, none of them dated. Check the fitment note on the product page against your car rather than assuming your Barina is covered.
• There is no Monaro, Calais, Caprice, Statesman, Rodeo, Crewman or Adventra.

One near-miss worth naming: the Jackaroo appears in our catalogue, but under Isuzu — the Trooper listing at /products/isuzu-trooper carries "Holden Jackaroo" as an alias. That is the same wagon.

The Astra that is listed as a Cruze

This is the single most useful line on the page. The 2016–2020 Cruze listing carries Holden Astra Sedan as an alias:

Our catalogue treats the Astra sedan and the 2016–2020 Cruze as the same cut, which is why that alias is there. The practical consequence: if you own an Astra sedan and you search "Astra", you will find nothing useful. Search Cruze, and open the 2016–2020 listing.

The earlier Cruze listing carries the Daewoo Lacetti alias, which is what the underlying platform was sold as before Holden used the Cruze name here.

Three Sparks, three names, overlapping years

The Spark is where the Holden list gets genuinely confusing, because the same tiny hatchback was sold here under three names across three overlapping listings.

Read those year ranges carefully — 2010 to 2013 is inside two listings, and 2017 is inside two. The overlaps are not sloppiness; they reflect that the Australian badge changed at a different moment from the car underneath it. Work from the name on your car:

• Badged Barina Spark? That is the 2010–2017 listing.
• Badged just Spark, and a 2017 or later build? The 2017–2020 listing.
• An older Matiz-derived car? The Spark Lite listing.

Barina and the two Gentras

These three are single cuts with no year split. The pair to notice is Gentra and Gentra X: the plain Gentra is the sedan (its alias is literally "Barina Sedan") and the Gentra X is the hatchback. That is a body-shape split, not a trim split — the rear door glass and the rear quarter are different shapes, so the two sets are not interchangeable. Pick on the shape of your car, not the badge.

Three notes.

The Captiva is a clean two-way split at 2015/2016, with the later listing named for the Captiva Revv. If you have a 2015-or-earlier car, take the first listing.

The Colorado listing is a single cut and carries an Isuzu D-Max alias. The Colorado and the D-Max shared a great deal, and our catalogue reflects that with the alias. But we also list the D-Max separately and with year splits — 2015–2019 and 2021–2025 — while the Holden Colorado row has no year split at all. If you own a Colorado, open the Colorado product page and check its fitment note before assuming a D-Max cut is the same. We are not going to rule on which listing is "correct" for a given build when the catalogue does not say.

The Trailblazer carries the Colorado 7 alias, which is what the same seven-seat wagon was called here before the Trailblazer name arrived.

The Trax has a vehicle page, and it is filed under Chevrolet: /sun-shades/chevrolet-trax, covering 2013–2022. That is not a mistake to correct — it is a good illustration of the whole problem this page exists to solve. The same small SUV wore two badges, and the fitment information lives under one of them.

What is in a set

Every Holden set here is cut for glass on the sides and rear: front doors, rear doors, the boot or tailgate glass, third-row quarter windows on the seven-seaters like the Captiva and Trailblazer, and the fixed port window behind the rear door where the vehicle has one. There is no windscreen piece in any of them — that is a different product, and we have written separately about what actually works on a windscreen.

On a used car this matters more than on a new one. Factory privacy glass on a 2012 Captiva has had a decade of Australian sun on it, and the rear-door glass on the small cars — Barina, Spark, Gentra — was rarely tinted heavily to begin with. Our UV guide covers what tint does and does not do.

1. Commodore or Astra hatch? We do not have a cut. Stop here.
2. Astra sedan? Look at the 2016–2020 Cruze listing.
3. Any kind of Spark? Check the badge, then match it to one of the three listings — the years overlap.
4. Anything Daewoo-derived? The Daewoo page tells you which badge it is listed under.
5. Everything else? Find it in the tables above and check the product page's fitment note against your build. Where a listing has no year split, that note is the only thing that will tell you.
