Both Captiva orders in our records, for a 2012 Captiva and a 2015 LTZ diesel seven-seater, both in Queensland, were for the complete set: front doors, rear doors, the third-row windows and the tailgate glass, eight pieces in all. With three rows of seats there is a lot of glass in a Captiva, and the kids usually end up in the back two rows.
There are two Captiva listings, one Captiva we don't cut, and one question to settle before anything else: is yours a Captiva 7 or a Captiva 5?

The Captiva listings
| What you have | Build years on the listing | Windows we cut | Product |
|---|---|---|---|
| Captiva 7 (seven seats) | 2007–2015 | Front doors, rear doors, third-row side windows, tailgate glass | Captiva 2007–2015 |
| Captiva 7 (seven seats) | 2016–2020 | Front doors, rear doors | Captiva 2016–2020 |
| Captiva 5 (five seats) | Any | Not cut | None |
The door sets are priced the same on both listings: $49.99 for the front pair, $59.99 for the rear pair and $99.99 for all four. The Captiva page carries both listings side by side.
Captiva 7 or Captiva 5
Holden sold two quite different cars under the Captiva name. The seven-seater is the one most people picture, and it is the car both of our listings are cut for. For part of that run Holden also sold a five-seat Captiva 5, which was built on the Opel Antara. It is a different body, the glass is a different shape, and neither of our Captiva sets is cut for it.
So the model name on its own doesn't tell you enough. If your car is a Captiva 5, please don't order either listing. If you're not sure which one you have, send us a photo of the side of the car and an open rear door before ordering, and we'll tell you. For a car we don't cut, the measuring app is how we quote it.
Captiva 7, 2007–2015: every window
This is the listing both of those Queensland customers ordered from, and it is the one with the full range. Past the two rear doors, the Captiva has a fixed window on each side beside the third row, and then the glass in the tailgate. We cut both.
On the listing the third-row piece is called "Third-Row Side Windows". It comes as a pair at $49.99. On a seven-seat Captiva that name is exactly right: it is the window the two kids in the very back sit beside, and there is no rear door for them to wind down. We wrote a separate piece on third-row and quarter glass if you want to know why that pane needs its own pattern.
The tailgate panel is $59.99 on its own. The sets families usually choose:
| Set | Price |
|---|---|
| Rear doors | $59.99 |
| Front and rear doors (4 pieces) | $99.99 |
| Rear doors plus third-row windows (4 pieces) | $99.99 |
| Rear doors plus tailgate | $108.99 |
| Front and rear doors plus third-row windows (6 pieces) | $145.99 |
| Rear doors plus third-row windows plus tailgate | $154.99 |
| Front and rear doors plus tailgate | $154.99 |
| Every window (8 pieces) | $199.99 |
Look at the second and third rows. All four doors and the rear doors plus the third row are both $99.99. If the third row gets used most days and the front doors are only an issue when the car is parked, the second set shades two rows of passengers for the same money.
The complete set at $199.99 is what both of those customers chose. For a car that does school runs with all seven seats in use, it is hard to argue with, because every passenger window and the boot glass are covered.

Captiva 7, 2016–2020: doors only
The later listing is shorter. It has the front pair, the rear pair and the four-door set, and that is all. There is no third-row piece and no tailgate panel on it. At the time of writing none of the three is on the shelf, so an order is made to order, which adds one to three weeks before dispatch.
If you have a 2016 or later Captiva and you want the third row or the tailgate covered too, ask us before ordering. We would rather check your car than have you buy the doors and find the back two windows still open.

Why the photos say Chevrolet
Our workshop cuts and photographs these shades on Chevrolet Captivas, the same seven-seater sold under the Chevrolet badge in other countries. That is why the photo addresses on our product pages say "chevrolet", and why the later listing carries the name Captiva Revv as an alias.
Trim colours vary by market and year. The earlier car in our photos has beige trim with a woodgrain strip; the later one has black trim with a silver strip. Go by the shape of the door and the window, not the colour. The listing starts at 2007, so if your Captiva was built in 2006, send us a rear-door photo before ordering.
Driving with them in
The rear door, third-row and tailgate shades are fine while you drive. Front door shades are for when the car is parked. They are cut back from the mirror, but the windscreen and front side windows have to stay clear while moving in every state and territory. Our guide to whether car sun shades are legal sets out the rules state by state.
The shades hold in normal driving, but take them off before a run on the highway.
Ordering
Body first. A seven-seat Captiva built 2007 to 2015 takes the 2007–2015 listing, with every window available. A seven-seater built from 2016 takes the 2016–2020 listing, doors only for now. A Captiva 5 isn't one we cut.
If you're working from a rego date and the car sits near 2015 or 2016, the guide to build dates and generations explains how to read the compliance plate.
Then the windows. For most families that starts with the rear doors, and our guide to choosing which windows to cover works through why. On a 2007–2015 Captiva 7, add the third-row pair if the back row is used, and the tailgate if the boot carries a pram or a dog.
If a set doesn't fit the way it should, you have 30 days to send it back under our returns policy.
The full Holden list has the Colorado, Trailblazer, Cruze and the rest. If you're comparing seven-seaters, the Toyota Kluger guide and the Kia Sorento and Carnival guide cover two more three-row cars we cut.
