Hyundai Tucson Sun Shades — Four Cuts, and Why the ix35 Search Lands Here
Two things make the Tucson harder to order for than it looks: the badge changed on Australian cars partway through its life, and one build year sits in two different listings. Both are solvable in about a minute.

The four cuts
| Build years | Also searched as | Product |
|---|---|---|
| 2002–2009 | ix35 | Tucson 2002–2009 |
| 2009–2015 | ix35 | Tucson 2009–2015 |
| 2016–2021 | ix35 | Tucson 2016–2021 |
| 2022–2025 | ix35 | Tucson 2022–2025 |
All four are from $49.99, and all four have been photographed on a real car rather than rendered — which is not true of every model in the catalogue, so it is worth saying where it is.
If your car says ix35
Plenty of Australian buyers know this vehicle as an ix35 and go looking for "ix35 sun shades", which is why every one of the four listings above is carried under that name as well. Searching ix35 lands you on the Tucson listings — that is correct, not a mismatch, and you have not been sent to the wrong product.
What we will not do is tell you which of the four your ix35 is from the badge alone. Order by build year, not by badge. The badge tells us which market and which era the car was sold into; the build year tells us the shape of the glass, which is the only thing a magnetic shade cares about.
2009 is in two listings
The first listing closes on 2009 and the second opens on it. A 2009-build Tucson can sit on either side of that line depending on when it was made.
As everywhere else in the range, the answer is on the compliance plate in the door jamb — build month and year, not the model year on your rego papers. If you are on that boundary, or on the 2015/2016 or 2021/2022 joins, send us the build month before ordering and we will confirm which listing is yours.
Outside those boundary years there is exactly one listing that covers you, and the table above is the whole decision.
Nothing before 2002
Tucson coverage starts at 2002. There is no cut for anything earlier, and no in-between gaps once you are inside the range — 2002 through 2025 is continuous across the four listings, unlike some of the utes in the catalogue where a year or two falls out entirely.
Hyundais that get ordered as a Tucson
The Hyundai SUV range overlaps in size and the wrong one gets picked regularly:
- Santa Fe — larger, and cut five ways: 2000–2006, 2007–2013, 2013–2018, 2019–2023 and 2024–2025. Note 2013 appears in two of those, the same way 2009 does on the Tucson.
- Kona — smaller, own listing.
- Venue — smaller again, 2020–2025.
- Creta — a different model line entirely: 2012–2020 and 2022–2025.
Trim does not change the cut. Two Tucsons of the same build year share door glass whatever the grade, so they share a set.
What a set covers
Side door glass, plus boot or tailgate where fitted. There is no windscreen product in the range. On a Tucson the useful glass is the rear doors — the seats where a child or a dog spends a two-hour drive with the sun on them.
Start here
Read your build year off the compliance plate, take the matching listing, and ask us first if you are a 2009. There is a shorter Tucson fitment page, and the Hyundai window shades guide covers all 43 Hyundai fits if the Tucson is not the only one in the driveway.
