LandCruiser Sun Shades by Series: 80 to 300

Auto Sunshades Team

Nobody in Australia describes a LandCruiser by its build year. It is a "200 Series", an "80", a "79 dual cab", and the year comes second if it comes at all. Our listings run the other way — by year, with the series in brackets — and the two vocabularies do not always line up. This page is the map between them: every LandCruiser and Prado cut we make, what it covers, and the one series that has no cut.

Door pairs are $49.99 for the front and $59.99 for the rear on every listing, or $99.99 for all four. On the 200 and 300 the third-row pair is $49.99 and the tailgate panel $59.99, and the complete set of every window is $189. The LandCruiser and Prado model pages hold the same listings.

The 70 Series has no cut, and we would rather say so

If you searched "79 series" or "76 series window shades" and landed here, the answer is that we do not make one. The 70 Series has been in production since 1984 with the same basic body, and it is not in the catalogue in any year or cab style. A 200 Series set will not go on a 76 wagon; the doors are nothing alike. We are not going to suggest otherwise, and you should be suspicious of anyone who does.

Where the listing years and the showroom years differ

Our year ranges are the years each pattern has been confirmed against, and on the two older wagons they start later than the car did.

  • 100 Series. Sold in Australia from 1998; our listing begins at 2000. The body did not change across those years, so a 1998–1999 100 Series almost certainly takes the same set — but "almost certainly" is not how we like to sell shades. Send the build year and we will confirm.
  • 200 Series. Sold here from late 2007; our listing begins at 2011. The 2012 and 2015 facelifts changed the nose, the lights and the tailgate trim, not the door glass. Same answer: ask, and we will confirm against your build year rather than have you guess.
  • Prado 150. Arrived in November 2009 and ran until late 2024. A 2009 build can be either a late 120 or an early 150 — the 150 is the larger, rounder body; check the build plate if unsure.

The one clean boundary is 2021 into 2022, where the 200 handed over to the 300. The 300 was in Australian showrooms from late 2021, so a 2021-build could in principle be either, though almost every 2021 on the road is a 200. If yours is a 2021, the compliance plate on the driver's door jamb carries the build month and settles it. There is a guide to build dates and plates if you want the background.

What a LandCruiser set actually covers

The 200 and 300 are the only two with the whole back of the car available: the four doors, the fixed third-row glass behind the rear doors, and the tailgate window. That third-row glass is the position universal shades never fit and the one that matters if there are kids in the back row on a long drive. If the third row is folded and used as boot space, skip it and take the doors and tailgate.

The 80 and 100 are door pairs only. The Prado 120 and 150 get the doors and the tailgate; the new 250 is doors only for now. If you want a position we do not list for your series, tell us — the list is built from what gets asked for.

Across every car we sell, the rear door pair on its own is more than half of all orders. On a LandCruiser it is the same story: the second row is where the child seats are, and the rear doors are where the afternoon sun comes in on the way back from anywhere.

Ordering

Find your series in the table, check the build year against the listing, and if you are on a 1998–1999 100, a 2007–2010 200 or a 2021 of either, send the build year first. The full Toyota list has the other 56 Toyota fits, Fortuner and Kluger among them.
