Volkswagen Window Shades Australia: All 12 Fits, and the Tiguan Years Only the Allspace Covers

Volkswagen is the make in our catalogue with the fewest year splits and the most body splits. Only three of the twelve listings carry a year range at all; the rest are single cuts identified by shape. So the question to bring to this page is not "what year is my car" — it is "which body do I actually have".

The Tiguan: three listings, and a four-year hole in the middle

This is the one genuinely counter-intuitive thing in Volkswagen's fitment, and it catches people out.

Read those ranges together and the gap appears: there is no standard-wheelbase Tiguan cut for 2018 to 2021. For those exact four years, the only Tiguan in our catalogue is the Allspace — the longer, seven-seat version.

That is not an arbitrary omission. The Allspace is stretched behind the B-pillar, which changes the rear door glass and gives it a larger rear quarter window. The two are different cuts, and the Allspace set will not work on a short-wheelbase Tiguan of the same year.

So, if you own a Tiguan built between 2018 and 2021:

• Five seats, short body? We do not have a cut for it. Better to know that now than after a delivery — the alternatives round-up is the more useful page for you.
• Seven seats, long body? The Allspace listing is yours.

The 2022–2025 listing picks the standard car back up from the current generation. The oldest listing also carries a Tiguan AD1 alias, which is worth knowing as a search term if your paperwork refers to the car by its internal code rather than its year.

The Polo: hatch and sedan are different products

Neither is split by year, so the product page's fitment note is what you check against. But do check which body you have, because these are not two sizes of the same set. A sedan's rear door glass ends at a different point and its rear quarter is a different shape from the hatch's — the boot changes the whole rear of the greenhouse. Australians mostly know the Polo as a hatch, so the sedan listing is easy to miss if you have one.

Teramont and Teramont X

Same principle, bigger car. The Teramont is the boxy three-row wagon; the Teramont X is the coupe-roofed version, which is where the aliases help — they are sold as the Atlas and the Atlas Cross Sport in North America. The sloping roofline on the X changes the rear side glass substantially, so the X's set is not a Teramont set with different packaging.

If your paperwork says Atlas, search Teramont. If it says Atlas Cross Sport, search Teramont X.

The rest of the range

None of these five is split by year, which is the single most important caveat on this page. The Golf in particular has run through several generations with meaningfully different door glass, and one listing cannot be all of them. Open the product page and read the fitment note against your car before ordering — that note, not a year range, is what tells you which body the cut was taken from. If it does not match, ask us rather than guessing.

The Viloran is the outlier: a van-bodied people mover, so its set covers sliding-door glass and rear-cabin windows that none of the others have.

There is no Amarok, Caddy, Touareg, Transporter, Multivan or Caravelle on our list. Those are common vehicles in Australia and we do not cut them.

What a set covers

Every Volkswagen set here is cut for front doors, rear doors, the boot or tailgate glass, third-row quarter windows on the Allspace, Teramont and Viloran, and the fixed port window behind the rear door where the car has one. There is no windscreen piece in any of them — windscreen shades are a separate category and we have written about what actually works there.

On the seven-seaters, the rear-most side window is the piece worth paying attention to. It is the one a third-row passenger sits directly against, it is usually fixed rather than openable, and it is the panel most often left out of a generic two-piece kit. Ordering

1. Tiguan, 2018–2021? Only the Allspace has a cut. Short-wheelbase five-seaters are not covered.
2. Tiguan, any other year? 2009–2017 or 2022–2025.
3. Polo? Hatch and sedan are separate products.
4. Atlas or Atlas Cross Sport? Search Teramont and Teramont X respectively.
5. Golf, Jetta, Passat, T-Cross, Viloran? One cut each, no year split — read the product page's fitment note first.
