Audi Window Shades: All 13 Fits, A1 to Q7

Auto Sunshades Team

Audi is the make where "which one" matters most, because the same badge has meant three different bodies in the time the car park has been filling with them. An A6 from 2013, 2016 and 2020 is three separate cars from the back seat, and three separate patterns for us. We cut twelve Audi sets: the A1, two A4, three A6, the Q2, one Q3, two Q5 and two Q7. This page is which one your car takes, and the years where it is not obvious.

Every Audi listing is door pairs: $49.99 for the front, $59.99 for the rear, $99.99 for all four. None of the thirteen currently has a boot or quarter-glass panel, the Q7's third row included. The A4, Q5 and Q7 have model pages; the full Audi list has all thirteen.

The codes in the third column are Audi's own generation names. They are not written on the car anywhere you would see, but every parts supplier and forum uses them, and if you know yours the table is done.

Clips, not magnets, on four of them

Our sets normally hold with magnets on the painted steel of the door frame. Four Audi listings — both A4s, the 2010–2014 A6 and the 2018–2024 Q5 — are made with a clip mount instead of magnets. The set fits the same way and covers the same glass; it is the edge that differs. You do not need to choose anything — the listing is made the right way for the car — but it is worth knowing if you have used our magnetic sets on another car and expect the same feel.

The boundary years

Most of the thirteen meet cleanly. Four do not.

A6, 2018. The C7 facelift listing runs to 2018 and the C8 listing starts at 2018, because that is the year the new car was built from. Australian deliveries began around the turn of 2019, so a 2018-plated A6 on the road here is almost always the C7 — but the two do not share a pattern, so check rather than assume.

Q3, 2018 on. We cut the first-generation Q3 (8U, 2011–2018) only. The second-generation car reached Australia in 2019, so a 2018 Q3 here is almost always the first body; for a 2019-on Q3, ask us before ordering.

Q7, 2016. The current Q7 was in Australia from 2015 and our listing begins at 2017; the body did not change in between. If yours is a 2015 or 2016, send the build year and we will confirm it against the 2017–2026 pattern before anything is cut.

A6, 2014 into 2015. Both years are the C7 body; the split is the facelift, where the door glass did not change but the door trim did, and the mount changes with it. If your C7 is a 2014 or 2015, take the listing that matches your build year and the mount will be right.

In each case the year on the rego papers is the wrong number. The compliance plate — on the driver's door jamb or under the bonnet — carries the build month, and that decides it. There is a guide to build dates and plates if you want to be sure before you order, and we will happily confirm from a photo of the rear door.

S and RS models

An S4 is an A4 with a different engine; the doors are the same doors. Take the A4, A6, Q3, Q5 or Q7 listing for your build years and the set fits. There is no separate S or RS pattern, and there does not need to be.

The Audis with no cut

The A3 in any body, the A5 and A7 with their frameless doors, the A8, the Q8, the e-tron range and the TT are not listed. If you drive one, we cannot supply it for now, and an A4 set is not a substitute for an A5 — the frameless glass is a different job. Ask anyway; what gets cut next is built from what people ask for.

What most Audi owners order

The rear door pair. Across every car we sell it is more than half of all orders, and the Audis are no exception: the second row is where the child seats go and where the afternoon sun lands on the way home. The four-door set is next. There is a guide to choosing positions if you are weighing it up, and the BMW page covers the other German badge in the driveway.

Ordering

Find your model and build year in the table, and if you are on 2018 for an A6 or Q3, send the build month first. Sets not on the shelf are made to order, usually one to two weeks.
