The Palisade is one of the few cars on our list where "third-row windows" means exactly what it says. It is a seven- or eight-seater, and the fixed glass behind the rear door sits right beside the third-row seats. On a five-seat SUV we would call that pane the port window. On the Palisade it is the window the kids in the back row look out of, and the one that cooks them first on a long drive.
Both Palisade orders we have had went to Victoria in September 2026. One was the rear door pair on its own. The other was the rear doors plus the third-row windows, which is the set we would point most Palisade families towards.

One cut, and where it stops
| What you have | Hyundai's code | Years | Windows we cut | Product |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| First-generation Palisade | LX2 | Listed 2018–2025 (sold here from late 2020) | Front doors, rear doors, third-row side glass, tailgate | Palisade 2018–2025 |
| First-generation Palisade with a factory glass roof | LX2 | Listed 2018–2025 | Sunroof, two-panel insulated set | Palisade sunroof |
| Second-generation Palisade | New body | After the LX2 | Not cut | Measure with the app |
The listing says 2018 because that is when the Palisade was launched overseas. Hyundai Australia started selling it in late 2020, so every Palisade on an Australian plate falls inside the listed range at the early end. The question is the late end.
The boundary: the new Palisade is a different car
Hyundai replaced the first Palisade with an all-new second generation. It is a new body, and we have not cut it. A first-generation set will not fit it, and we would rather say so here than have a panel arrive that does not sit in the frame.
If your Palisade was built late in the first generation's run, or you are not sure which one you have, check before you order. The two look different side by side, and a photo of the car settles it. If the photo does not, the build date on the compliance plate does; there is a guide to reading build dates and generations that explains how. If you have the new body, the measuring app gets you a quote.
Which seat each window shades
This is the part that decides the order, so here it is plainly.
- Front doors shade the driver and the front passenger. The front panels are cut short of the mirror line, so you can still see the mirror and reach for a toll or parking card. Front pair $49.99.
- Rear doors shade the second row, whether your car has the three-seat bench or the two captain's chairs. This is where child seats usually go, and it is the pair most people start with. Rear pair $59.99.
- Third-row side windows shade the back row. These are the fixed panes behind the rear doors. They do not open, so whoever sits there has no way to get out of the sun except a shade. Third-row pair $49.99.
- Boot is the tailgate glass. It shades the cargo area behind the third row, which matters if a dog rides back there or the shopping sits there while the car is parked. Boot panel $59.99.

How the sets add up
The Palisade listing offers every combination of those four positions, so you can match the shades to the rows you actually use. The front and rear doors together are $99.99 for four pieces. The rear doors plus the third-row windows are also $99.99 for four. Front, rear and third-row together are $145.99 for six. The rear doors plus the boot are $108.99, and every window including the boot is $199.99.
Two things stand out. The rear doors plus third-row set costs the same as the front and rear door set, and on a car that is carrying people in all three rows it covers more of them. And if the third row is folded flat most of the time, the rear pair alone does the job; that is what one of our two Palisade buyers chose. The guide to choosing which windows to cover goes through the trade-offs for any car.
Every set that includes the boot panel is currently made to order rather than ready to ship, so allow for that if you want the tailgate covered.
Fitting
Each panel fits into its window frame and lifts out by hand. The mesh is black polyester; from inside you can see out clearly, and from outside it is harder to see in. We recommend taking the door shades off for highway driving. Every Palisade panel is cut from a measured car, not from a size chart, which is the only way the third-row pane gets covered properly; it is an odd shape, as the photo above shows.
The sunroof panel
There is a separate Palisade sunroof listing: a two-panel insulated set at $69.99, made to order. It is a different product from the mesh window shades, a reflective foil-core panel built to stop heat coming through the roof glass. It only fits a Palisade that left the factory with a glass roof, so check yours first. We do not have a photo of it fitted to a Palisade yet, which is why there is none here.
Ordering
First-generation Palisade: the Palisade 2018–2025 listing, starting from $49.99 for a pair. If the back row carries people, include the third-row windows. If it is built late in the run or you are not sure which Palisade you have, check before ordering. The new second-generation body is not cut yet. For the wider picture on the glass behind the rear doors, see our guide to third-row and quarter windows, and the full Hyundai list covers the rest of the range.
