CX-5 owners buy more glass than most of our customers. Four of our last five CX-5 orders included the boot window, and two of those also took the small quarter windows behind the rear doors. Across all our orders, roughly one set in five includes the boot. A CX-5 is a family car with a big, sloping tailgate glass, and the load area gets hot while it sits in a car park. Owners seem to know that before they order.
There are two CX-5s we cut, one set of rules for telling them apart, and one new car we do not cut yet. Here is how they map.

The two CX-5 cuts
| What you have | Mazda's code | Build years | Windows we cut | Product |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| First CX-5 | KE | 2012–2017 | Front and rear doors, boot glass | CX-5 2012–2017 |
| Second CX-5 | KF | 2017–2025 | Front and rear doors, rear quarter windows, boot glass | CX-5 2017–2025 |
| CX-5 with a factory sunroof | KF (listing name) | 2017–2025 (listing name) | Roof glass (one panel) | CX-5 Sunroof |
Both window listings price the doors the same way: $49.99 for the front pair, $59.99 for the rear pair, $99.99 for all four. The boot panel is $59.99 on its own, $108.99 with the rear doors, or $154.99 with all four doors. The Mazda CX-5 page covers both generations.
2017 is the year to check
Mazda built the first CX-5 from 2012 and replaced it with the KF, which arrived here in early 2017. That means a 2017 CX-5 can be either car, and the two sets are not interchangeable: the door glass is a different shape, and the KF has the quarter windows the KE listing does not cover.
The quickest way to settle it is the build month on the compliance plate. If you want the method, there is a longer guide to build dates and generations.
If you are standing next to the car, open a rear door and look at the door trim. Our workshop photos show the difference clearly. On the KE, a chrome strip sweeps down from the door handle towards the armrest in a curve. On the KF, the chrome runs straight across the door at handle height.

The KF's quarter windows
Behind each rear door on the 2017–2025 car there is a small fixed pane of glass. We cut a two-piece set for it at $49.99, and it is where the bigger KF sets come from: rear doors plus quarter windows is $99.99, rear doors plus quarter windows plus boot is $154.99, and every window on the car is $199.99. Of the three KF orders since late September, one was the rear pair alone, one was rear doors with the quarter windows and boot, and one was the complete set.
On the listing these are called "Third-Row Side Windows", a name carried over from our seven-seat listings. The CX-5 is a five-seater. On this car the name means the quarter glass behind the rear doors, nothing else.
We do not cut quarter-window panels for the KE. Its listing covers the doors and the boot glass only, and both recent KE orders were the full doors-and-boot set at $154.99.
The sunroof panel
The sunroof listing is a different product: an insulated panel about 8 mm thick with a reflective foil core, cut to the roof glass and sitting in the opening, rather than a mesh shade. It is one panel, $49.99, and it only fits a CX-5 that left the factory with a glass sunroof. Many CX-5s were sold with a solid roof, and on those there is nothing for it to sit in.
The listing is named for the 2017–2025 car, but our catalogue records a wider range for it, 2015 to 2025. We have not confirmed it on a first-generation car with a sunroof, so if yours is a 2015–2017 KE, ask us before ordering it.
The one we do not cut: the 2026 CX-5
Mazda has started delivering an all-new CX-5 body for 2026. Our 2017–2025 set is not cut for it, and the window shapes are different enough that we would not suggest trying it. If you have a 2026 build, check with us before ordering anything, or use the measuring app to send us your windows and get a quote.
Ordering
Generation first, then windows. A KE built 2012 to early 2017 takes the 2012–2017 listing. A KF built from 2017 to 2025 takes the 2017–2025 listing. A 2026 car is one we cannot help with yet.
For windows, the rear pair is the right starting point for most people, and the guide to choosing which windows to cover explains why. On a CX-5, though, the boot is worth a serious look if the back is used for dogs, shopping or sports gear, and on a KF the quarter windows close the gap the rear-door shade leaves behind it. Several variants on both window listings are currently made to order rather than on the shelf.
The full Mazda list covers the other Mazda fits, including the CX-3, CX-30 and CX-9.
