Suzuki Jimny and Vitara Sun Shades: Which Listing Fits
The two Vitara orders we can tie to a car were both for the same thing: the rear door pair, one for a 2017 Vitara in Victoria and one in Queensland. That is the usual pattern for a small Suzuki. The back seat is where the child seat goes, and the rear doors are where the sun comes in.
The Jimny is a different car to shade. It's tall, flat-sided and nearly all glass, and the three-door has no rear doors at all, which matters when you read the listing. This page goes through the Jimny first, then the three Vitara-badged listings, because picking the right one of those is most of the job.

The listings at a glance
| What you have | Years on the listing | Windows on the listing | Product |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jimny, three-door (JB74) | 2019 on | Front doors, the side glass behind them, the back door glass | Jimny |
| Jimny XL, five-door | Not cut | None | None |
| Vitara, the current crossover | 2015–2026 | Front and rear doors | Vitara 2015–2026 |
| Vitara, older | 2003–2008 | Front and rear doors | Vitara 2003–2008 |
| Grand Vitara | No years on the listing | Front and rear doors | Grand Vitara |
The door prices are the same across all of them: $49.99 for the front pair, $59.99 for the rear pair and $99.99 for all four. Only the Jimny listing has a back window panel.
Jimny: the three-door only
The Jimny listing is named for the JB74 three-door, the boxy shape that has been on sale since the late 2010s, and the listing starts at 2019. Its own description says the five-door Jimny XL is not covered. The XL has longer rear doors, so the glass is a different shape, and nothing in our range is cut for it yet. If yours is an XL, please don't order this set. The measuring app is how we quote a car we don't cut.
If your three-door was built in 2018, send us the build date from the compliance plate before ordering, since the listing starts a year later.
What "rear doors" means on a three-door
Here is the part to read carefully. The listing uses our standard window names, so it offers "Rear Door Windows (2 pcs)" at $59.99 and a four-piece "Front and Rear Door Windows" set at $99.99. A three-door Jimny doesn't have rear doors. On this car, those pieces would be the fixed side window behind each front door, beside the back seat.
We don't have a workshop photo of a Jimny with any of these pieces fitted. The only picture on the listing is a product composite, not a fitted car. So before you order any Jimny set, front doors included, send us a photo of the driver's door and the side window behind it from inside the car, and we'll confirm the fit. It takes us a few minutes and saves you a return.
The back door glass
The Jimny's back door swings open sideways and carries the spare wheel outside it. The glass in it gets its own panel, called "Boot / Tailgate Window" on the listing, at $59.99. The combinations:
| Set | Price |
|---|---|
| Front doors | $49.99 |
| Rear side windows | $59.99 |
| Back door glass | $59.99 |
| Front doors plus back door glass | $99.99 |
| Front plus rear side windows | $99.99 |
| Rear side windows plus back door glass | $108.99 |
| Everything (front, rear side windows, back door glass) | $154.99 |
Jimny owners tend to load the back with gear, a dog or camping kit, and the back glass is right on top of it. If you sleep in the car or use it for overnight trips, our car camping guide and the 4WD touring guide talk about which windows earn their place on a trip. The Jimny page carries the same listing.
Vitara: three listings, three different cars
Suzuki has put the Vitara name on more than one car in Australia, and we have three listings with Vitara in the name. The Suzuki list goes through the naming history; here is how to tell which of our sets is yours.
Vitara 2015–2026: the current crossover
This is the low, car-like small SUV that arrived here in 2015 and was facelifted in 2019. Dealers and classifieds often call it the New Vitara, and that's the alias on the listing. One listing covers the whole run, before and after the facelift.
It's cut for the doors only: front pair, rear pair or all four. There's no tailgate panel on this one. It is in stock at the time of writing.
Our workshop photos show it on white, grey and blue Vitaras. On the rear door the shade sits inside the frame and covers the glass right down to the belt line. On the front door the shade is cut back from the mirror, so the corner of the window stays clear.

Both of the Vitara orders above were the rear pair at $59.99, and for most families that's the right start. Our guide to which windows to shade explains why the rear doors usually come first. The Vitara also appears in our small SUV guide next to the Kona, Crosstrek and Yaris Cross if you're comparing. The Vitara page carries this listing too.
Grand Vitara
The Grand Vitara is the taller, squarer four-wheel drive, and it has its own listing. The listing carries no year range, so go by the body rather than a year. Our workshop photos show it on a silver five-door with a black interior. The rear door has a small fixed pane at its back edge, and the shade covers that pane and the main glass in one piece.

Two things to check. If your Grand Vitara is a three-door, it's a different body to the five-door in our photos, so send us a side photo before ordering. And because the listing has no years, if you're unsure whether your car matches, a photo of the open rear door settles it.
The set is front pair, rear pair or all four doors. None are on the shelf right now, so an order is made to order, which adds one to three weeks before dispatch.
Vitara 2003–2008
This is the hardest of the three to be sure about, and we'd rather tell you that than guess. The listing covers 2003 to 2008 and carries the Escudo alias. We don't have workshop photos for it, and the picture on the listing shows the same red car as the Grand Vitara listing. So we can't show you from a photo which body this set was cut on.
If you think this is your car, send us a photo of the open rear door and the build date before ordering, and we'll tell you whether this listing or the Grand Vitara is the one. Like the Grand Vitara, it's doors only and made to order.
If you have a Vitara built between 2009 and 2014, the same applies: send a photo and we'll check it against the Grand Vitara set before you buy anything.
Driving with them in
The rear door shades, the Jimny's rear side pieces and its back door panel can stay in while you drive. Front door shades are for when the car is parked. They're cut back from the mirror, but the front side windows have to stay clear while you're moving in every state and territory. Our guide to whether car sun shades are legal sets out the rules state by state.
The shades hold in normal driving, but take them off before a run on the highway. On a Jimny with the windows down on a dirt road, that matters more than it does around town.
None of these listings records how the shade is held on, so we won't name a mount type here. Each product page shows how its shade sits in the frame.
Ordering
Pick the car first. A three-door Jimny takes the Jimny listing; an XL isn't one we cut. A low crossover Vitara from 2015 on takes the 2015–2026 listing. A taller, squarer Vitara or Grand Vitara needs a quick photo check before you choose between the Grand Vitara and the 2003–2008 listing. If you're working from a rego date rather than the build plate, the guide to build dates and generations shows where to look.
Then pick the windows. On a Vitara, start with the rear pair. On a Jimny, send us the photos first, then choose between the back door glass, the front pair for when it's parked, and the rear side pieces.
If a set doesn't fit the way it should, you have 30 days to send it back under our returns policy.
